Memorialized in 1885 from land purchased in 1791 from Daniel Carrol. Named after Charles Folger Sec. Of Treasury that had just died in 1884.
Nuns had established Providence Hospital at the square south point of the park. And the park of referred to as The Square North of Providence Hospital.

The park is right on the hill a couple of blocks behind the James Madison bldg. It's quiet enough and kept pretty clean. The grounds and benches could use some attention to update it. Parking can be a chore as there is only street parking. But it's a good place to take a small dog or bring food for quick lunch.
I love this peaceful little park. I wish the city would fix it up a little, replace the paved path with some more environmentally friendly packed gravel, fix the monument, Make it feel a little more loved.
Nice quiet urban park though I've mostly stayed in the north section. Very open but also a good amount of shade. The grass tends to grow pretty long between cuts but it's not a big deal.
A nice park to sit and people watch, or walk your dog. Planty of open space for kids to play. Weekends are for kids soccer or flying a kite.
Great little green space with lots of benches. Would be good for throwing a ball or disc around and for picnics. It lost a star for not having a public toilet, but there's a Starbucks on 3rd if you're discreet.
It's a Park, there's benches and trees and when I was there I saw birds. It's clean nicely located.bthere aren't any play areas which is great if you're going to relax.
Ok small park just grass pe OP please walk dogs. It's a bunch of benches covered in bird poop, make sure to bring a newspaper to sit on and drape behind you. Several trash cans I dont see litter on groud.
