Huge park with two tracks to walk around the lakes. Bikes and walkers and runners, and dogs. Lots of great wildlife and beautiful scenery. The playground got a facelift recently, and it looks like people are loving it. Excellent connectivity to the trail system.
Beautiful paved walking paths with restrooms in the middle. Links to other walking and biking paths as well. Nice flora along the paths - both trees and flowers with educational kiosks for learning. Many benches to sit and reflect too.
Great place to go on a sunny day with others for a walk. The lake was big and definitely took some time to walk through it all but the scenery made up for it. It was a good bonus to find ducks and turtles through the walk. The sunset lighting added a nice aura for a while which many liked
Love this park. Great place to go for a run. I haven’t been running for a month and running at Lake Artemesia today was a great experience. Lake Artemesia Natural Area has many running/walking/biking trails, a soccer field, a basketball field and even three pickle ball courts. A great place to exercise while enjoying the beauty of nature.
Beautiful natural park. Was there Sat, 8 Aug, it was not crowded between 2-3pm which was great! Lots of turtles in the lake.
The most beautifully clear water I've ever seen in a lake, especially in MD.
Plenty of places to sit and enjoy the beauty of nature around you. Saw people fishing.
Plenty of space to run and/or bike as well. Although some people need to know etiquette when riding so not to run people over.
Signs posted at entrance for traffic to flow 1 way. Has public restroom w/ running hot water, another great plus. Definitely will try to get back out there to this beautiful hidden gem. 💙

If someone likes beautiful scenario of nature in Fall do visit Lake Artemesia, the reflection of trees, sky and cloud in lake water is superb.. best of all is, no entrance fee, yes, free.. I walk and sometimes do jogging and for meditation perfect.. my kids take out their bicycles whenever I go with family.. it's full of migrating ducks...
It's very relaxing and soothing to go there in the evening and to witness the magnificent Sun Set.
Great place to to photography of mother, Nature.when, my kids were young, they use to like and wave to the Metro Train, that passes near by on a higher level.. lots of benches to rest and talk with friends and family.. you can spot many fireflies in the evening time..
Restrooms are available.. sometimes getting parking is luck especially with a nice sunny day in winters and cool breezy day in summers. Also its clean and well kept :)

It's really beautiful, so you just need to leave the park before it's even dark or near it. The local police will issue you a $40.00 parking citation, whether it's completely dark or not. It's located right next to the station and it's something that they're all for.
The lake is beautiful! It changes with the seasons always giving lively views. One lap on the inner loop puts you over a mile. There's just enough incline to challenge your muscles. Pavement is wide enough for walkers, bikers, skateboarders, etc. Well kept and clean. Safe.
