Outstanding!
Extensive menu. I only had the Buffalo chicken nachos - were great!! I'm guessing anything else on the menu is too. Excellent flavor! Fresh ingredients!

My Burrito was huge, more than one meal or plenty to share. The salsa was most excellent! The service was friendly and attentive. Definitely worth a return trip!

Used to be my go-to spot for Mexican food. I work right down the street and I would spend $40 - $60/ week. Not anymore.

Idk whats happened lately but the food coming out of that place is so inconsistent. One day, it'll be good, and next, it'll be disgusting. I've thrown away about 3-4 meals and at this point I'm over it. I will try a different place for now on.

Also, forget having any special requests! The cook's don't even bother to look at the receipt. They'll charge you for something extra but won't give it to you!

Food coma isn't even the word! So many delicious choices, generous portions and priced fairly. I like the elote already comes in a to go cup with lid and there is a self serve salsa bar. Also Mexican Coke 🤩

A little food history in my search for the best Taco Al Pastor on my San Diego visit. A vertically grilled meat dish, now known by several names, was wide spread throughout the Ottoman Empire. The Lebanese version, shawarma, was brought to Mexico in the late 19th and early 20th centuries by a wave of Lebanese immigrants, mainly Christians such as the Maronites who have no religious dietary restrictions on eating pork.

In the 1920s in the state of Puebla, lamb meat was replaced by pork. Mexican-born progeny of Lebanese immigrants began opening their various restaurants. Later, in Mexico City, they began to marinate with adobo, and using corn tortillas, which resulted in the al pastor taco.

This was the best one I found so far and not far from my hotel in the gaslight section of San Diego.

Stopped at El Gordo on a recent trip to San Diego. The food was authentic, and the atmosphere was nice but dated.

The price, in my opinion, was high compared to similar restaurants.

The enchiladas were good! The sauce was really good; nice flavor, mellow, smooth, and they were loaded with shredded chicken which also had a nice flavor.
Sat inside due to rain, cute table set up, roomy, comfortable, welcoming. Loved the menu board! Almost everything had a picture-so you know what you're getting and it even looked better than the picture when it was served!

We were running late, and it was raining. We saw this place and decided to eat the dinner. The place is small and majorly focused for drive through. It was almost closing time when we were there. So it was fully empty inside. Only one person was managing the restaurant and his English was choppy. We managed to converse and he got us food. The tacos were good, although in one of the tacos, I got scrambled eggs instead of meat 🤔😾. I think they were running out or is it the ‘more authentic way’ ? He insisted us to taste the birria, which was decent. Most of the food was a bit greasy and decent. Overall economic, but nothing fancy.
