Large open green space 3 blocks from Whitehouse. Students and Foggy Bottom community members enjoy this space for all kinds of outdoor activities.

University Yard is the historic and symbolic heart of the George Washington University. It is a beautiful green space at the center of the university's Foggy Bottom campus. The Yard is located four blocks west of the White House.
Colin Parker
Nice green space in DC.

The George Washington University campus in DC is open and seamlessly embedded in the community, quite active. But I like better the campus (Science and Technology Campus, or Graduate Campus, whatever they call) in Asburn, VA.
