I came Into the hotel to ask about information for something and the receptionist was rude and not warm or welcoming. He seemed as if I was bothering him and was super sassy. Honestly everyone seems not interested in being there and not welcoming. As I was being super polite.

I've stayed at the Greenwich Hotel half a dozen times.

Generally, service levels are very high. There is a general "famous people stay here, and you aren't one of them" from a lot of the staff. I don't love that (I suspect nobody does). But, it just means you'll be getting good service with a bit of "tude" from someone whose facial expression says that they're put out to be talking to one of the proles.

Location is only alright. If you have meetings at Goldman Sachs or Citi, excellent. If you have meetings in Midtown and want to take the subway... meh.

Rooms are great. They execute the boutique hotel vibe very well. Beds are comfortable. Bathrooms are well appointed. Sitting area/living room was almost spacious.

Room service is alright. But in this neighborhood, you're making a mistake if you don't go out for dinner. Even if you're visiting on business and traveling solo. If you're asking how room service was, I'd say you're asking the wrong question. Ask for a restaurant recommendation.

The gym is nice, and larger than you would anticipate.

The spa is incredible. One of my favorite spas in the world. The ambiance is unique - and transports you to a different place, away from the stress and chaos of whatever brought you to the Big Apple. The service is great. My only complaint (and I'm going from memory here) is no 120 minute options for massages. Some spa say that's too long for the therapist. But, therapists at other spas seem to survive. I think more likely charging the same price for a 100 minute massage as other spas charge for a 120 minute massage makes more money. In the end, I'll still pay it - it remains one of my favorite spas in the world, despite the shenanigans.

After some recent bad experiences at other hotels in the area we wanted to try something top of the pops and The Greenwich did not disappoint!
An amazing NYC hotel experience that is understated from the outside but the service, the rooms, the whole experience is second to none.
Will definitely be booking again on our next trip to the city
(The only thing that was a bit of a let down was the breakfast in the restaurant downstairs, they were out of a few key breakfast ingredients)

The design and service are both exceptional. The tile in the bathroom alone is a wonder to behold. Love this place.

Nice rooms and spa facility. Design in the spa area and gym is superb.
The good bag is welcomed by kids.

Cooler-than-cool old school style with all the modern flair you’d hope for of a 5 star hotel. Great service in the vein of Union Square Cafe’s famous “Welcome Home” mantra, truly welcoming and warm.

Best hotel in NYC - rooms, service, location is all superb. I've stayed twice and will continue to return for trips to NYC. The employees all know you by name and are happy to help with anything, it is walking distance from great shopping and restaurants and the spa and pool are beautiful.

This is my family’s go-to hotel when in NY. The staff is so cordial, the common areas are moody and awesome and the rooms, although quirky, are comfortable. After a day of being out and about, we loved heading straight to the lounge and sitting next to the fireplace where we enjoyed a nice cheese plate, some wine or an old fashioned. Kevin, one of the doormen always went above and beyond and provides top notch service. Will be in NY again next month and looking forward to checking in to our home away from home.
