To enhancExperience an extraordinary 0.5-mile bridge that seamlessly connects Old Town to National Harbor, offering an unparalleled scenic vista of the entire city. As you traverse this architectural marvel, be prepared to be captivated by the breathtaking panorama of the nation's capital. Gaze upon the majestic Capitol Hill, standing tall with its iconic dome, while the glimmering memorials pay tribute to the country's rich history. This remarkable bridge not only transports you to National Harbor but also immerses you in the grandeur and splendor of Washington, D.C., showcasing its timeless beauty at every step of your journey.

The Woodrow Wilson Bridge... What to say? It is better than what it replaced. That bridge was a shadow of this one in size and capacity. I find the separated center lanes for out of state travelers annoying as those lanes could be used for local traffic. Most local commuters use them anyways as they are travelling to points along I-95 further south. The key here to this bridge is to stay with the stream of traffic and not the speed limit. Don't worry about cops here, they're only concerned with keeping the traffic moving. The other major improvement with this bridge is that you can walk across on the northern side to or from Alexandria to National Harbor. The sidewalk is quite protected and you'll find a steady stream of joggers and bicyclists coming and going from both sides of the river. The MD side has several at grade pedestrian crossings but the traffic is pretty infrequent that a walker can get across without too much trouble.

I enjoyed my walk, it was my first time so I got a little over 4 miles in. A lot of beautiful nature views along my long enjoyable stroll.

This is a really lovely bridge to get your exercise on while soaking in the beautiful scenery. Be it for biking, walking and running. It’s a 6 mile walk to and fro from Virginia to the Maryland side and vice versa. I really enjoyed riding on the bridge renting the capital bikeshare bicycle with a friend. It was so much fun! I highly recommend to all tourists and locals as well.

I really love coming here with my son and also to workout. I usually go early in the morning around 7 or 8 and there is plenty of parking. If you go later in the day or evening it can get really packed. The great thing is there are always cops patrolling the area as well for safety. Its very clean as well. You're kids can also play or ride their bikes. There is also a nearby park as well. You can also walk into old town from the bridge as well or you can walk the bridge into Maryland. In all is a great location.

The Virginia side of the bridge in Alexandria overlooks Jones Point. This was the cornerstone of the 1st Federal City Washington, DC. The lighthouse still stands, along with boundary markers before land divisions between Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. Trails, playgrounds, and public restrooms all can be found within walking distance.

An intriguing part of being in and around our nation's capital I have never actually seen the drawbridge in the up position and the ship passing through that would definitely be something I would like to see and I will keep on my bucket list.
