I just moved in today, but my experience started 2 weeks before. Richard has been exceptional- made us feel at home before it was even our home, and guided us thru every step of the way. I can’t wait to see how these next 13 months go

LOUD BUILDING!!! Avoid if you value your sanity.

It pains me to have to write this review, because The Vale is phenomenal in many respects, but my time living here has been a living hell. As I am writing this review, I am sitting in the lobby of the building having been forced from my apartment for the third night this week by loud music coming from down the hallway and through the walls. And when I say loud, I mean LOUD. The music starts off quietly, but continues for hours and progressively gets so loud it can be heard on the floors both above and below us. You can view the video recording I uploaded for a taste of what it is like living here. The day I recorded that video was a Friday (I was at home because I am a student), and the music continued at this volume for over twelve hours—from roughly 11:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Please try to take a moment to imagine what that was like for me. Please also take a moment to imagine what my life is like without late nights, weekends, or early mornings. At those times, my apartment is basically unlivable.

When this person plays her music, no sounds really make it through the walls except for the din of the bass. It is a high-volume thrumming sound that echoes throughout my entire apartment, shaking and rattling the furniture, including the chairs, sofa, and bed. The vibrations also travel through the floor and through my entire body, causing my heart to race and making me deeply uncomfortable. It is impossible to sleep while the music is going because my bed is swaying back and forth as if there is airplane turbulence. Last night, I lost several hours of sleep because the music was playing past midnight, and this morning it started right up again as I was eating my breakfast at 8:00 AM. This was not unusual. In fact, these days, it seems more normal than not for me to lose sleep or be forced to vacate my apartment, surrendering my time to a person with seemingly no respect for others, and who told us that if we didn’t like her music, we should “Go buy a house.” This is who you will be neighbors with if you move here.

Because I live at The Vale, I am forced to live a miserable, unhealthy, and sleep-deprived existence, completely at the mercy of this woman down the hall. I have complained to the front desk numerous times about this person, and each time they have said they will speak with her but I have never seen them follow through. If the management wants to continue attracting tenants, they should prioritize enforcing community norms, or else what was once a nice building will continue to deteriorate.

This is my first apartment experience and it’s been a great one. A little getting used to but great nonetheless. I love the amenities and the staff. My only complaint is no hall closet or enough storage space and I’m kinda far from the elevator but other than that the building is lovely.

I moved here July 1st. It’s been a great place so far! Maintenance was quick to respond in the first few days. Concierge is really helpful and friendly. My dog loves getting treats from the front desk. We have great amenities that I’ve not fully tapped into yet. We’re on the former and historic property of Walter Reed Hospital with security patrolling the area and locking playgrounds and the dog park at night. They upkeep of the apartments/property and landscaping shows they really care. I find it mostly quiet. I don’t hear a lot of noise within the apartments, but facing the courtyard and pool, there’s a a bit of rowdiness and noise on weekends. But this is midday summertime pool fun. The overall area feels safe, with Walter Reed security officers patrolling the area, locking playgrounds and dog park at night.

I’ve been a resident at the Vale for a year now. I’ve had a pretty good experience. Parking isn’t a major issue because we have a lot. The area is quite. There are a lot of convience as far as food and necessities are concerned. The neighbors are great and concierge is AWESOME! They tons of things to engage residents and of course there’s a lot participation. The rent is on the higher end but paying for luxury is the cost.

This apartment team and management team have made my experience at The Vale unlike any other I’ve experienced in DC. They are attentive and kind. They answer all calls for maintenance and support immediately. The apartment is well kept and super cute, they really pay attention to detail here. I have thoroughly enjoyed living at The Vale and cant wait to experience the beautiful pool area once it opens for the summer. I was able to host my family recently in the clubroom, the experience was painless and everything went off without a hitch (thanks Christina!)

I’ve moved at the Vale about 9 months ago, it has many great amenities the best being the staff. The entire staff including front-desk, maintenance, cleaning, and administrative always act in a professional manner and are quite personable as well. One staff member in particular, stands out and that's Christian, she’s the new Executive Concierge replacing Jordan who was amazing. Christian so far always goes that extra mile to assist residents. She’s one of the most helpful and nicest person, she always greet everyone with a smile and goes above and beyond to help with any issues while remaining calm. Keep up the good work Christian. You are awesome!!!

I moved to The Vale in June of last year and I can honestly say my experience has been great. The interior as well as the exterior is clean at all times, the amenities are great, and the residents are respectful and mindful. This is my first place and I would definitely recommend.

In terms of the staff, Jordan who is the Executive Concierge is very pleasant and responsive. She greets you with a big smile and always ready to assist. Angeline(GM) who I've just recently met is also a great addition to the property.

Whenever there's an upcoming event, building repairs, or maintenance tasks that needs to be completed, I receive an email and updates in advance and if I happen to not see the email there's notices posted in the elevator. The Vale feels like a home away from home and the best part is the strive they have to ensure that residents are heard and initiative they take to implement new things for us to enjoy.
