This is a fully restored play building styled in Spanish colonial architecture from the mid 1920s. Once you enter you are instantly able to see the care that was taken with the atmosphere. Disney studios will use this location for their film premiers, additionally depending on the day, there may be a VIP ticket option available for an premium. This includes a drink, popcorn and ticket. All seating is reserved.
Seating is from the original building and as a result, the chairs are smaller than standard seats. As mentioned before, this location was originally used for plays and as a result, the location does have an echo with the audio. So do keep that in mind. All in all this is worth the experience.

Most amazing movie experience! I saw haunted mansion and they had props and photo ops set up for after the movie. So amazing, great atmosphere. I loved the organ player before the show and the revel of the screen was so beautiful and amazing to see as well. Great service too.
Always a wonderful time when we visit! We participate in special events and enjoy the commemorative goodies included in our viewing. Love their theming for each movie and the organ!
Was recently here for the haunted mansion premiere. Had amazing time, staff was friendly and kept the event pretty well organized, could tell they have done this before. Couple small compliments, seats are very small, im a bigger person, 6'4 and weigh around 330, was hard to get in and out of seat. Also the package we bought included a popcorn and soda, the soda was a warm bottle of Sprite, they had other selections, but everything was warm. Other than that it was really fun, movie was great, would definitely do this again, maybe just get an ada seat instead.
My first time visiting El Capitan Theatre was for the Haunted Mansion Fan Event. It is such a beautiful location with a great atmosphere. I loved the decor that was displayed and the organ to go with the movie. Below the theatre was an exhibit with props from the movie. I highly recommend attending special events or screenings held there. I plan to return again soon.
El Capitan Theatre is an awesome Disney movie theater on Hollywood blvd. You can see the movies that just came out and the long time Disney favorites like Toy Story and others. I loved it here.

This is the best place you watch a movie. You want to come here! It’s amazing from the entrance to the spectacular curtain raising. The stage the overall presentation is mesmerizing. The theater itself has that Old Hollywood Glamorous vintage touch ♥️ it’s all worth it! Whether you want to escape from your daily life or maybe you have that one special person you want to impress, El Capitan is the place to do it. Kid friendly. Seating, you pre select either on the main floor and upstairs on the balcony.
& if you want to get an up closer look to costumes / movie props you can! Just go downstairs next to the restroom

This is a magical place to be immersed into a movie experience. The whole theater comes alive and sets the stage for the movie screen. But the bonus is the Museum downstairs holding movie props and costume from the actual production. Just love this place!
