Before I came, I read many reviews talking about mistreatment by the owners, but when i tried it out, I found the exact opposite. The food is amazing and the owners are so kind and generous.

The food is good but after two minutes she kicked us out because we had two kids ... and she suggested that we take the sandwich and leave ...!! Wow very rude unfortunately ... even though the sandwich is tasty i will never come back
Disgusting, just saw the owner lash out at a customer because she had her child with her. She said kids give me headaches please wait outside Absolutly unacceptable! The client stayed calm and very quietly said something to her. 10 min after the custoer left she is still calling her names in the restaurant. don’t come here, not worth the money or the time. Very rude owners
When you say Frayha Falafel you already know it s one of the best authentic Lebanese Falafel. The 4 stars is for the food the fifth star is for customer service which they don't have.
The best authentic Lebanese Falafel in Quebec. Yet, the rudest elderly ever. Still a must go to place for falafel. Get in, order, don't talk much if you don't want to encounter any rudness. Honestly i don't understand why that couple are not friendly with the customers, age is not a reason to be rude. I will keep going for their tasty falafel though. The place is not very clean or neat and it's been open in service for a long time now. They serve only falafel (as a sandwich or in a plate without bread) and you can take away or sit and eat in.
Payment is in cash only, no debit or credit.

I wanted to visit this restaurant for months, but it is far from my home and getting there with public transit is really difficult. Finally today I made it. Their falafel is so good. I am from the Middle East and I have tried many falafel restaurants in the last 9 years between the US and Canada. This is definitely one of the best. God bless the lady and the gentleman who are running it.

This place is kind of hole in the wall. You wouldn't really give it a second glance if passing by on the street. You sort of have to be lead there, and convinced to give it a try.
The food is really delicious, and the best falafel I have tried in Montreal. Freshly fried, with lots of delicious veggies and proper tahini sauce, it's really a freaking amazing sandwich.
Now most of these 'bad' reviews here have to do with the owners, who are an elderly husband and wife duo. It's really unpredictable in how you will be received! You might catch them on a good day, or you might catch them on a day they just quarreled. I can see how people can be put off by them, as they can be quite rude sometimes. That's why I call them the Falafel Nazis. It's quite fun to sit and ponder their scenario while munching on the delicious falafel! It's even funner since I look like I don't understand Arabic :)
I've heard many stories about this little restaurant, and it's unpredictable owners. This is the one that I believe the most:
The story is that this couple had to move to Canada during the Lebanese Civil war in the 80's, and have resented it ever since - as they had a very prosperous brand/business back home (probably worth millions now), which they had to leave because of the turmoil that war brings. So they came to Canada and did what they did best: Falafel!
In my opinion, this restaurant should have prospered more than what it is, as their Falafel recipe is extremely delicious. I would have definitely franchised it by now!
There is a Falafel Frieha brand currently in Beirut (not sure who runs it though - as I saw a branch across from ABC Ashrafieh) and it is quite popular and known! Maybe someone took over their name?
Their food is really good tho. You won't find better. A dream come true for all you vegetarians and vegans! As long as you're okay with dealing with the Falafel Nazis*!
* Reference to the soup nazi in Seinfeld, incase anyone got offended!
