Netter Ausflug - nicht mehr und nicht weniger.
Filerimos ist ein 267 m hoher Hügel, etwa 8 km von der Hauptstadt Rhodos entfernt. Auf seinem Plateau befand sich in der Antike die Akropolis der antiken Stadt Lalysos. Später wurde hier eine byzantinische Kirche errichtet. Heute ist es ein beliebtes Ausflugsziel. Wir waren hier Mitte April, am frühen Morgen. Es war noch sehr ruhig und wir konnten die Atmosphäre des alten Klosters und die schöne Aussicht genießen. Hier leben auch viele Pfauen, die man mit ihrem prächtigen Gefieder nicht übersehen kann. Der Eintritt kostet regulär 6 Euro. Freier Eintritt für Kinder bis 24 Jahre und Behinderte.
Filerimos has two part of visit. First you can go to monastery (fee 6€) and also enjoy view to east side. Second you can go the "crisis route" and enjoy view to west side (included Airport and landing airplanes). And there are peacocks everywhere!
Nice views, easy access and shades. Lots of peacocks in the area. Well worth a visit.
Apart from the chapel the long uphill crossing, one can find small little paths with outstanding view of the airport side of the island.

Mountain with peacocks living free on top of it, with a great views all around it? In my opinion, this is a must see place when visiting Rhodes! We went all the way there, and weren't disappointed. A lot of peacocks, great place to visit with children.
