What a surprisingly great stay! We stayed for 3 nights at this hotel and were accommodated with excellent customer service. We were allowed early checkin around noon which was super beneficial. The rooms are modern and clean. I absolutely loved the amount of colour and beautiful artwork the entire place is decorated with. The balcony door is difficult to close however. Unfortunately it rained heavily during our stay but the staff were so helpful with providing umbrellas, trying to keep the walkways clear of water. We even used the outdoor heated pool while it was drizzling rain! I like that they have a free shuttle that takes you straight to universal studios. There isnt anything walking distance so if you are staying here it is better to have a vehicle.
The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. However, our room overlooked the freeway after we upgraded. Throughout the night, we were constantly disturbed by the noise from the freeway due to the patio door not fully closing. Although I don't watch much TV, it would have been nice if the service was available. Additionally, the price of $24 for an 8-ounce bottle of red wine seemed quite excessive. On a positive note, the parking was convenient, and we greatly appreciated the free trolley service. Despite the cozy atmosphere, the constant freeway noise made our stay somewhat stressful, considering we only had one night there.
Had the most incredible experience here at The Garland. Our family stayed here for 5 nights and our only complaint was we wished it was longer. Our room was immaculate and spacious, even for a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 kids, 7 and 12). Customer service all throughout the resort was amazing. So kind, tentative, and just on every single detail of the resort, which made it overall one of our most amazing stays at a resort to date. The restaurant on property was delicious and affordable, even for a family with 2 picky eaters. The pool hours were incredible at 6am to 10pm every day, which we spent a great deal of our time at. Super clean, maintained daily and friendly staff at the bar. The little store on-site was a favorite with some adorable trinkets that the whole family took advantage of. The amenities of the resort again were just beyond what we ever imagined, including the sweet vintage trolley that went hourly to Universal Studios. What a lovely surprise and a huge cost savings from doing multiple ubers a day. We will be back! That's a promise!
The absolute cutest little boutique hotel. We were there 1 night only and chose this hotel due to its super close proximity to Universal and the free shuttle. The room was quiet and clean. The hotel itself was a great vibe. We got in super early from NY and they were able to check us in super early at no additional cost. We had some drinks by the pool that were SO good. The beds were a dream for us, we were very comfortable. The shuttle was prompt. I would definitely stay here again in the future for a 1-2 night quick stay. My only "complaint" is that for the price per night (about $350 for a Friday night including taxes/fees) self parking should really be included as opposed to an additional $33 a night.
5 star experience, loved everything about our stay! Staff here are absolutely lovely, especially the waiters at the restaurant. Room was gorgeous and comfy with a beautiful balcony looking over the Hollywood Hills. Enjoyed coming back to the pool for a coffee and dipping our sore feet in the jacuzzi (they have an adults only one which was nice for a quieter space). Enjoyed the free trolley to Universal Studios. For a busy hotel the rooms were very quiet, we had a deep sleep every night. The design details on the property were top notch, couldn't recommend this property more. The only disappointment was the $100 credit for food and drink - no one on the property reminded us and as we paid cash for our meals, when we checked out we lost the credit.
We hope to be back again one day!

I checked in here 10-9-23 and checked out 10-11-23. The first issue was that I had to pay for parking, $33 a day, I never in my life; thirty-two years on this planet had to pay for parking at a hotel that is already $300 at night. The second issue: there was too much chlorine in the spa. I Went to universal with my sisters and nephew and smelled like chlorine all day even after taking a shower twice; once in the morning and once before I went to bed. The third issue: the bathroom door and the balcony door were both broken. So we couldn't lock the bathroom or go on the balcony that often. The fourth issue: very stingy on the coffee creamer. I went to the front desk to ask for coffee creamer and my sister apparently already asked for coffee creamer. So the front desk receptionist told me that I cannot have anymore. Seriously! But anyway, four to six little coffee creamer cups for four people is definitely not enough. We need at least twelve. They cost what, $0.01 per creamer cup? Last issue: the elevators are way too slow I ended up using the stairs at one point. The only positive things are that the food was good from the restaurant, the beds we're comfortable, shower was nice and hot and the soap smelled amazing, the room was pretty sound proof, a nice swimming pool with a beautiful seating area/ food-bar and a free trolley to universal studios. Even though I did not pay, the stay was definitely not worth the price.
Absolutely my favourite hotel of our holiday. The decor is so amazing and funky, loved the bright colours it made you feel alive and happy. Rooms were fab and luxurious. Staff were so friendly and helpful, had a free transfer to Universal Studios all day. Food was fresh and yummy. Recommend this to everyone and I would 100% return.
I love this hotel and the property! The rooms are very reminiscent of the groovy days, but they are not outdated. The grounds are lovely. We felt catered to by every employee we met. The pool is good-sized and can accommodate a lot of guests. Adults only hot tub! They also have daily activities for kids, families, and adults. There is something for everyone. The restaurant is fabulous. The bar is awesome. The gift store is well stocked with many local goodies. It’s just an amazing place to either be in the middle of Hollywood or completely removed from it. We will return!
