You can’t go wrong at this place. Top quality seafood, friendly staff and a modern & classy atmosphere inside at very casual prices. Perfect meal after an afternoon of walking around the HafenCity area along the Elbe or Rathausmarkt and seeing Hamburg’s sights

I got the Fish & Chips, which were delectable. Perfectly washed down with a bottle of Coke

Nothing pretentious about it, just tender and flaky chunks of fish in a very light and crispy batter, served atop a bed of beautifully cooked fries in a cardboard box, with a dollop of their house-made tartar sauce

Oh my word, that tartar sauce… Bursting with herby flavor. Very rich and delicious. The fries that were underneath and covered in it were the best in the box. Sehr lekker, sehr gut.

A nice restaurant located next to the Hamburg City Hall. You can sit down without waiting too long in line. Friendly and warm staff welcomes you. You don't have to wait long to order. I can say that I found the taste sufficient.

Very good place and good value for money. I read in the comments that the place is quite overrated. I completely disagree. For 11€ you can get a fish and chips, with delicious soft cod and crispy tasty fries. The fries are definitely to try with their delicious sauce. Service is super fast and there is plenty of space to sit. Also very convenient spot just in front of the Rathaus! I would definitely recommend if you are spending a few days in Hamburg and want to try some fish and chips

I went there based on reviews. I found the place quite overrated. I had the Matjesbroetchen, and for good measures I also had the fish and chips. The Matjesbroetchen was alright but sure you can do better for less in something a little more honest just off the beaten track. The fish and chips was terrible. The fish was overcooked, dry and the batter had no crunch. The staff looked uninterested and wasn't particular friendly. Simply put, there was nothing original about this place. But if you just look to tick a box, it will do...

Good place for fish eaters . The portions are big , good value of money . If you like to experiment Hamburger fish styles and cookings , it is the place .

If you like seafood, this is your place to be in Hamburg.
Delicious sandwich and platters. If you're having a quick bite, you can sit on the shared tables at the entrance.

Loved the authentic hamburg cuisine, the fried sour herring was delicious!

This branch in the city does not allow for reservation, so best to go earlier when it's not so busy. We arrived at 6pm and barely got a table.
