I went a few days ago to visit Blue Akai and it was a very pleasant experience, it has been completely renovated (it used to be Bluemoon) we went for sushi and we didn't know what to order, we ordered a sushi for two with some margaritas... the waiters are very friendly and most of them speak English and Spanish which is very good, they are very helpful in answering questions, helping you and giving you recommendations, especially the waitress Ana, Hollman the bartender prepares the best margaritas in the area and the manager Sara was also very attentive! If you go, ask for them and your experience will be much better! We are definitely planning to return!
Semi Decent food if the flies don't get to it first. Our cups of ice were dirty as well as the tables filled with cup ring stains. I wouldn't recommend or return again.
Im not local but come to Englewood a couple times a year for work and always hit this place up. I saw some recent reviews that kinda broke my heart because I love this place, but I read the bad ones and they were kinda suspicious, mad about not getting served at closing (sounds like emotional drunks) and food poisoning that's still going 3 months later???? Idk man, you might have colitis. I'm having lunch here now, brisket and ground beef enchiladas with a couple margs, and the food, service, and atmosphere is just as good as always. Can't speak to the night life or whatever but if you want some delicious Mexican food and some drinks I highly recommend this place.
I came here with my god-daughter who's visiting. This was a picture of zucchini nachos for appetizer and forgot to take the rest of the pictures of our meals ( cauliflower tacos, fiesta salad, elotes). I came here a few times when it was the Blue Moon Cafe and happy to know it's now called Blue Akai. The food is still delicious!
So many people stopped to ask me what I had and if it came from this place although I was sitting right outside the establishment at their outdoor seating…my food looked and smelled that good. It tastes great also. It was my first time there, but I’ll be back to try other dishes for sure!
Stopped in for the end of happy hour before a show at BPAC. Specifically impressed with the refried beans: must be house made, the texture including full beans was amazing. A little more mole sauce on the enchiladas would have been nice - I'm sure if we asked, it would appear. Meal prep was fast and accurate. Servers we plentiful.
Nice place to eat outside on a cool night. You'll get some of these loud annoying cars blasting music sometimes but it's on a main street so it's to be expected. If you don't want that then eat inside.
The food was good, nothing special. My fish tacos were good but I've had better elsewhere closer to me.
The waitress was really nice and took care of us whenever we needed something.
I did notice some of the 2 person tables outside were really wobbly so that can be annoying.
If I'm in the area I might give it another try but I wouldn't go out of my way to come here. Not saying it was horrible just that I can get similar to better food closer to me.
