Great omakase. Offers affordable 9+1 piece omakase at a reasonable price. I also had to change my reservation at the last minute and they were very accomodating. I would definitely visit again.
This is our go to sushi spot, well this and their Brooklyn location. They have reasonably priced sushi w exceptional quality. Service is always great, and def recco sitting at the sushi bar for the omakase. Also one of a few places to offer cheek Toro, which I attached a picture of.
I’m writing this review because I wanted to mention the outstanding and beautiful presentation this restaurant provided my coworkers and I. The attention to care and detail was above and beyond. Tastes were all immaculate. Definitely a fine dining sushi experience you need atleast once. Personally I suffer from being allergic to preservatives used in freeze drying foods (specifically seafood) and this place definitely has everything fresh. Appetizers were heavenly, would love to come back someday 😍 thank you so much for the great experience!
P.s. I apologize to everyone I know these pictures aren’t great it’s because I was having such a great time I took pictures when I remembered 😅

Really good no frills omakase at a great price.. was pretty quite and chilled vibe when we arrived but soon got busy! Would recommend sitting at the bar to watch it all being made.. the best way to enjoy omakase in my opinion.. food was good and fresh but the best omakase we have ever had but still good for the price! We did get some prawn tempura to finish as we were still abut hungry after the set menu!
Stumbled in here after not getting into other places nearby. The ambiance was casual and well lit but nothing fancy. We ordered oysters, 6 piece, and 9 piece w/ hand roll. I enjoyed everything! Thought the pieces were good portion size and delicious. Oysters came seasoned already with a yummy ponzu sauce!
Service was great and friendly!

I struggle between 4 and 5 stars because the first time around, it was great. But the 2nd time around, they used too much sauce on the sushi. It was still good but I am more of a sushi purist and when most of the pieces have some sauce on it is a bit difficult (and I’m not talking about soy sauce)
They do have firefly squid when in season. That is a rarity by itself. Definitely take advantage of it when they have it.
Also, they have rare fish such as nodoguro which is really good.
I hope to go back again and make this a 5 stars next time.

Jackie and the team at Sushi Katsuei made this omakase experience so enjoyable! They were accommodating for any dietary restrictions that we had and made sure we had the fully experience. Sitting at the counter is a must, being able to have the origin of each fish explained, the names of each fish and what flavors we would experience in each course was an integral part to the whole experience.
Felt a little rushed dining here because they had to turn the table over after an hour and a half, and they kept repeatedly reminding us about it, so it’s hard to feel relaxed dining when you’re just looking at the clock. However, the sushi itself was excellent. And the fish was fresh, buttery soft, and well flavored. The sushi and shasimi omakase is a good deal for the variety and quality of fish. The interior looks like a standard sushi spot not too fancy but good for casual dining.
