Absolutely insane flavor profile. We got an arrange of the little plates and wow. Honestly will not go wrong with anything, but highly recommend these: scallop and crab, anchovy octopus, lobster miso butter, meatball, Nasu Dengaku (eggplant), Ebi Katsu (deep fried shrimp), and wish I got the corn. Fried rice was delicious as well. Totally coming back.
I used to really like the place and now it is suddenly change 60% to new menu, but the new menu are in the same price range but downgrade so much the quality.
I used to visit almost 1-2 weekly, but last the experience was really really disappointed, the cod roe noodles are just water boil and then mixuped with soggy, sticky sauce, the steak is dreadful, and the fried chicken even overcook to have a black charcoal on the skin. The lemon, even chopped in the huge size that I don’t know how to use it.
The reason for me to point out is compared to previous food quality it is downgraded so much with same price. I quite like the restaurant so I continued visit the past month but if they keep the new menu like this, It actually decreases the quality of the food. If they keep the new menu like this then I may not want to visit anymore

We were there at 6p, Dec 27. Compared withe other restaurants we visited in the recent days (Christmas-New Year peak season in NYC), this was heaven. Ordered $150 foods and every dish was perfect. The servers were so nice that they at least checked/refilled water 10+ times during the 1 hour we stayed there. Will be back and sure will recommend to anyone I know.
Yakitori at nonono 🍢🍢 everything was SO flavorful and bomb, I loved every dish we ordered!!
🍽️Ordered:
1. Chicken wing with pork dumpling stuffing
2. Cod roe udon
3. Sliced hamachi
4. Scallop crab mayo skewer
5. Chicken meatball skewers
6. Duck and scallion skewer
7. Seasonal cocktails
I loved the chicken wing stuffed pork dumpling because it was so juicy and full of umami 😫🤤 all the skewers were grilled to perfection and perfect for sharing. The pasta was also one of my favs because of how creamy it was!! You really can’t go wrong with ordering anything on the menu, this was such a great dinner!

Nonono is a high quality izakaya with a casual vibe and affordable pricing. We were blown away by how authentic and delicious the food were, bringing us straight to Japan.
If we need to nitpick, the service was pushy and our server constantly looked annoyed which made us nervous talking to her.
* Cod Roe Cream Udon
The best-valued dish ($14) with a decent portion! The mentaiko cream wasn’t overly heavy, but still preferred to be shared. It was tossed with hearty portion of sliced pork belly and assorted veggies.
* Pesto Portobello***
Each grilled portobello was topped with scallop and mini tower of pesto sauce. They scorched the pesto sauce to give extra smoky aroma to the dish. A luscious and innovative fusion side that took the dish to a new level.
* Nasu Dengaku***
Slices of eggplant were grilled and enrobed in a glossy miso sauce, coated with lots of scallions. The eggplant literally melted in my mouth and it was bursting with sweet and tangy flavors. I love and worship eggplants, so this side was 100% right up my alley.
* Meatball, Chicken Thighs Scallion Skewers
Meatball was a minced chicken skewer glazed in a golden sweet-and-savory sauce. Very well seasoned, yet I prefer a tsukune being served with a dipping sauce of raw egg yolk. While the chicken breast skewer looked sad lol the meat was dry and lack seasonings.
* Chawan Mushi***
Love the jiggly and silky smooth egg custard. The price was steep but the bowl was bigger than we thought, and it was loaded with luxurious ingredients like uni, shrimp, crabmeat and ikura.
* Matcha Tiramisu
It was not outstanding but did a good job to end our meal. The matcha powder they used might not be top-tiered, but still delectable to finish off your satisfying date night.

great vibes and great food and cocktails are VERY reasonable prices which is huge for nyc. not too loud either making it great for conversation. came here for a work dinner and it was immaculate. sushi is all very good and very fresh too.
Randomly found this place on Google and was shocked how delicious the drinks and tapas were. Mouthwatering dishes and nice ambiance.
Will definitely come back next time when I visit NYC.

The NONONO impressed us with its delicious and well-prepared food. Our dishes were tender, juicy, and flavorful, leaving us wanting more. However, we noticed that the beer servings were a bit smaller than expected, about half the size of a standard pint and the food portions were tapas-style, which led us to order more food and drinks. This resulted in a higher bill, but overall, we enjoyed the experience. Be sure to make a reservation in advance, as the restaurant was fully booked when we arrived at 5pm on Saturday.
Serving a pint size for beer would be a welcome change.
