Lovely spot to visit if you're into industrial heritage or simply into looking at beautiful things made of steel.
Also, thanks to the volunteer who gave us a most interesting tour of the Waterworks

Loved the experience. The guy who showed us around was really friendly and helped us understand what everything was. This was one of the highlights of our trip.

The Waterworks were just amazing 🤩

The lady was so helpful and told us about the history of the Waterworks and even showed us through the venue.

The gardens were amazing and were maintained very well.

It would be an amazing spot to have a picnic 🧺 at because there is a grass and water spot next to it.

Visited here on an open day as part of the Canberra region heritage festival. Unfortunately the main steam driven engine developed an issue and wasn't running - however it was still very much worth the drive. The building is very grand and the setting is lovely with the river. I appreciated the history of different machinery used over the years which the volunteers have kindly detailed in the many information signs provided.
Bathrooms are available and there was a cafe - not open on this visit but may be at peak times.

Beautiful and well maintained historic waterworks, thanks so much for Stuart (onsite officer) patiently explained every little detail of the waterworks, it was a wonderful visit!

This place is run by volunteers. It’s the oldest waterworks that still works. Surrounding this place is a beautiful river/picturesque surrounding. You should definitely pay it a visit and pack a picnic and spend a day there.

What a Wonderful hidden gem! All these years we hadn’t even heard of it. Well worth the visit, the guide (Stuart) was very obliging and informative, and the museum was fascinating. NO CHARGE, but we were keen to make a donation to assist with upkeep.

Great to see beautiful old machinery restored to working order. Great information from the local guide about how the engine was brought from England and used to pump water from the river for the local towns. Museum is free but a small donation can be given and this is used to maintain the site
