Always love playing this course. Well price and always one of the top maintained courses in the SW metro. Friendly staff, cool clubhouse, executive carts with GPS and coolers. Club will give you a bag of ice with purchase of drinks! Subscribe for the Friday blogs from Tom, they’re fun reads!

I just played here and I hate golf today. Usually my favorite thing to do. Nothing to look at on this course. It was in good condition. But not my idea of a fun golf course. I would prefer to play shadowbrooke, ridges, or timber that are in the wilderness. My golf addiction has surpassed this place years ago. $81 with a cart, I guess this is what you get these days.

My friend and I recently played a round at Deer Run golf course. The course itself is well kept which makes it an enjoyable course to play. However, our group was behind a five-some which included the head pro. When our group asked to play through because of their slow play, he refused. At one point he vaguely mentioned that he "might make it right at the end of the round." However, when we finished our over four hour round of golf (which involved waiting at every hole), he was no where to be found. Suffice it to say that I would prefer to play a variety of other courses in the SW metro before I play Deer Run.

Beautiful and well maintained facility. Highly recommended!

As of 2023, Deer Run is a solid value at $59 for walking 18 holes.

Contrast that with Bluff Creek in Chaska being ~ $46 and not being nearly the golf course that Deer Run is.

I put Deer Run a notch or two below Chaska Town Course in course condition, design, and natural beauty, but Town Course currently charges $75 - $80 to walk 18. It can also be more challenging to get a tee time at Town Course vs. Bluff Creek.

As public courses in the west metro go, I rank Deer Run a 7.5/10, Town Course a 9/10, Bluff Creek a 4/10.

As others have said, Deer Run is a good course in a great area. While there are a lot of homes on the course, I don't feel like they ever detract from the experience. In fact, it's nice to look at some of the attractive homes and gardens while walking to your ball or between shots.

Deer Run is kept in great condition for a public course. It is a good test of your golf game (especially if you spray the ball off the tee, like me), but you can score out there.

The back tees are 6,326 yards, so that may not be enough for some long hitters. But I hear they may be creating a new set of tees with some more length.

Of note: you will face a lot of OB on this course. My friend said they have OB on 15 of 18 holes. This notches up my anxiety a bit, as we play the OB rules by the book! But I don't think the OB is ever unfair or enormously difficult to avoid. If you can avoid the Big Miss, you will avoid OB.

Course is attractive and in good condition. However, $80 (including tax) is an absurd price for a public golf course in Victoria, over 20 miles from Minneapolis. There is NO SENIOR RATE, and the woman checking you in is not at all welcoming. There are many other courses in just as good shape with better prices and service. I will NOT be going back to Deer Run, and several of the people I played with today feel the same way.

Private feel for a public course. We'll kept and well managed, no working around leagues here. Nice practice tees have auto ball feed. Carts with the best GPS aides available for distance, terrain and obstacles. Challenging while straight forward. Bar and bar cart serve only top shelf at rail prices. Food is quick at the turn and staff very friendly. Excellent selection of Swag too. Will continue coming back!

Beautiful day on a great course! This was my first time out to this course and I enjoyed the mix of the holes. Some easy and some challenging water hazards. I was surprised how many homes are pressed in around the course so be careful with a slice! Overall very fun course and I'd come back here.
