We enjoyed the peaceful and spacious place. The scenery was beautiful with the fall colors.
The campsites are decently spaced some in fields, some with tree cover. Bathrooms are very clean, toilet paper and hand sanitizer adjacent to parking lot for the trail.
If you didn't know you can disperse camp in a national grassland. Jorgens hollow is a campground and it's not very isolated but you do feel isolated when you're on property. The park ranger was fantastic very informative the bathrooms were amazingly clean.
Beautiful surrounds. Well kept camp site with potable water and toilets , which are also wheelchair accessible. Walked a short trail after arriving. 1.5 miles in pristine grassland. Stunning really. Spacious campsite amoungst the trees (RV site, but not crowded.) The wind was blowing from Canada and it went to 45 degrees last night. I actually was plenty warm. Tonight is a different story. It's 50 for a high today, with a freeze warning in effect for overnight. Since I have Fargo friends, well I'm leaving a day early. 😊
It's a great place. Lots of birdsong, Baltimore Oriole, Whippoorwill, and even Turkey calls this morning. Quite a magical spot.

Very nice campground in the National Grasslands. Very clean. No fee at the moment I believe is due to the covid-19. Shady spots but solar friendly. Fresh potable water from hand pump. Two clean vault toilets. 4 mile walking trail that circles the campground. Mountain biking on said trails also. Many chipmunks running around for entertainment. Cows roaming outside fence line. Stayed 4 days and loved it.
****** FOLKS WHO USE GENERATORS 12+ hours a day: PLEASE - PLEASE - PLEASE go a mile down the road to the beautiful Sheyenne Oaks Campground and plug in. THANK YOU!
BE AWARE: To get to Jorgens Hollow rustic campground you have a minimum of six miles of dusty WASHBOARD gravel road to get there.
* Within the Sheyenne National Grasslands, Jorgens, nestled in a grove of cottonwood trees, is a primitive/rustic quiet, serene, clean, (Carry In - Carry Out) camping area. The water at the hand water pump is excellent, tasteless and cold. The two concrete outhouses are kept stocked with TP and are kept clean. The 14 sites are reasonably level and many offer shade. Site picnic tables are concrete and there is a steel ring fire pit. Bring your own approved firewood.
* July-August 2023: Maintenance of the campground sites is still fairly good overall. The part time campground caretaker, who we have spoken with, has only so much time for mowing of the campground and the Oak Leaf Trail, so mowing can be spotty, but he does that best he can. During these visits, the bug population was pretty low, meaning not too many flies and darn few skeets. However, the "invisible" no-see-ums can still get you.
* You'll find chipmunks and ground squirrels scampering about. They'll leave you alone, after awhile, if not fed.
* Enjoy Jorgens 4 mile Oak Leaf Trail that winds in and out of woods and prairie, or walk/hike a portion of the NCT aka North Country National Scenic Trail that passes through the area.
* On clear nights, we have found Jorgen's to be a terrific place for satellite watching due to dark skies. One night, in September 2019, we saw the ISS, International Space Station. Traveling across the sky, at one point, its solar panels reflected the sun causing an instantaneous flash of white light. Exciting!
BE AWARE: as mentioned above, depending on the year, during the heat of summer, flies and skeets can be a big nuisance/PITA. Suggestions: Got good bug dope? Maybe even a fogger? Bring them with for a more pleasant stay at this little piece of out of the way serenity.

Quiet no-fee campground that was nearly empty in late September. Vaults are kept clean and there are walking trails that are maintained and marked. Not a lot to do there or in the area but its a nice stop to unwind for a couple days.
Great overnight spot with sweeping views of Grasslands. Hiking available on North Country Trail. Sunsets were gorgeous and night sky was beautiful around the campfire. Due to horses and nearby cows, there are some flies.
