A must see place before you visit the Colosseum! Highly recommended. Great view of the Colosseum. We also loved the drinks from the cafe.
The square has a great location and there are many options for where to go.
From the Monument to Victor Emmanuel II, you can enjoy a stunning view of Piazza Venezia and Rome.

Großartiger Platz, leicht mit Nahverkehr zu erreichen. Denkmal für Viktor Emanuel II ( freier Eintritt für Hauptrundgang), Trajansforum, Marcellustheater, Museen, Ausgrabungsstätten bis zum Colosseo und Forum. Alles nah beieinander, fand es sehr interessant.
Beautiful Victorian aged monument to Vittorio Emanuele II, but just round the right hand side you can walk through Campidoglio Sq designed by Michaelangelo and look out over the ruins of the forum. If you climb the Gemonian stairsconvent of Santa Maria just behind the monument you can see some gorgeous old frescos ❤️
Just an aside this is not near the Spanish steps they are on the other side of town. https://maps.app.goo.gl/Qiz2eDwD4qMWjTKW8

Piazza Venezia is a captivating hub in the heart of Rome, boasting a mesmerizing blend of history and modernity. The monumental Altare della Patria dominates the square, creating a striking backdrop for visitors. The energetic atmosphere, coupled with the surrounding historical landmarks and vibrant street life, makes it a must-visit destination. Whether you're exploring the Capitoline Museums or simply enjoying a leisurely stroll, Piazza Venezia encapsulates the essence of Rome's timeless charm.
The sheer scale of this place is mind blowing! Make sure to buy a ticket and take the panoramic lift up to the top of the building to enjoy the spectacular views.
The arhitecture is stunning.A bonus is that children under 18 have free entrance on the roof and adults have a tax of 13€
Beautiful place - every direction you will look towards you will find amazing views and the history laid out in front of you
This is indeed an absolute must see monument and a central hub in Rome, connecting several other mega historical spots. The monument itself is magnificent, one must see all sides of it to take in the beauty of this architecture. You can walk up the stairs up to the roof, from where the views are spectacular. You can see all the way up to the Colosseum! You could of course take a nice walk all the way up to the Colosseum from here, through Via dei Fori Imperiali along the Forum on both sides. And you could walk the opposite direction from Piazza Venezia towards the Fontana Di Trevi and all the way down along Via del corso to Piazza del popolo. Plenty to see all along the way and you should plan on at least half a day walking these areas. There is so much major history surroundings these areas and a lot to learn and take in!
Majestic, amazing, great area. Everything here breathes great history. Wherever you look from this square, there is a deep, majestic history everywhere. Everything must be visited, about all those places it is necessary to read the information given by respected sources.
Cool place to see. The buildings and structures are huge and can be best seen from the road crossing. There is a small part to stand and take photographs of the place and the palace. The balcony you can see is where there were political speaches given by politicians.
Never heard of this spot before visiting but this should be at the top of the list for seeing when in Roma. The monument size and beauty will blow your mind. Highly recommend taking the elevator to the top of the monument where you can see the entire surrounding area including great views of the colosseum and Basillica
Nice white marble structure, but relatively modern. There are several ancient ruins nearby and this structure was built on some of those ancient ruins. Few chapters in History has been lost. Worth spending sometime.
