I've been coming to this place since 1996 as a 16 year old. Best pizza and sauce in all of downtown Manhattan!! Same owners. They are excellent for large office parties or even your own personal parties. Their Chicken Parm is absolutely amazing. Real authentic and tasty mozzarella! You want the beat pizza in downtown, go here. There's a reason I've been going here this long. And I lived in the Bronx near Arthur Ave my nearly my whole life where great pizza is!
Great NYC pizza shop, we order a whole pizza and an additional grandma slice. The regular pizza crust was exceptional with great crunch and crumb. The sauce and cheese were both great and the sausage was a NYC classic. The highlight for me was the grandma slice, the first I’ve ever had, slightly doughy with a fantastic crunch and the sauce had a bit of tang, definitely a different sauce from the regular pizza. I also got to meet the owner Ben, which was a treat! He has been operating since 1982, and since 2014 in the current location. Those of you going to the Statue of Liberty, Underground is a quick walk from the ferry drop off. Highly recommend for an authentic NYC pizza experience.
May be the best pizza I have ever had, truly. Took a trip to NYC this past weekend and was so pleasantly surprised with this place. The sauce is so smooth, not like many pizza places with super acidic sauce. The cheese, to die for. They were also very considerate of my gluten sensitivity, which is such a huge concern for me. Especially when traveling, since my usual staples are out of reach. I loved it so much I went back the same evening and got another one. I'll be dreaming of this pizza for a long time

A shining 5 stars for Underground Pizza! I’ve had the pleasure to visit here several times over the past 18 months and can attest to the consistency of delicious food, fine service and atmosphere. Perhaps one of the last true classic NY pizza joints and should not be missed. Their pizza exceeds expectations in terms of taste and texture, and for NY pizza that’s a high bar - crunchy crust, savory sauce, and zesty upside-down pepperonis are mouthwatering. But more than the food is the soul behind the food. It’s a family business since 1979 - family icons and interests are displayed proudly on the walls, welcoming the customers and community. Staffed by true-grit New Yorkers getting the job done, year round, no excuses! There’s a clean & comfortable inside dining space, with cushioned seats, TV, and bathroom. And there’s an incentive if you pay in cash!

We're from Chicago and we're brought here during a walking tour. Let me tell you, I'm sad I'll never find pizza that tastes like this on Chicago. This pizza is one of the many reasons I fell in love with NY.
Great pizza a few blocks from Wall street. It's a small place with some limited seating up top but it's mainly people grabbing and going. My slices were very good. The crust was near perfection. I will return for sure. The owner/manger guy was extremely nice and friendly. Give them a shot!!!
