The food is definitely above average but if you're competing for Italian food, the neighborhood offers quite a bit of options.

My main complaint is I came here on a evening with my wife and my toddler and they had plenty of seats but they seem to be diplomatically trying to figure out a way to not serve us perhaps because of the lack of high chairs or the potential for a toddler to be rowdy. We were fine using her stroller and so due to our persistence we were seated but I just don't like that they were trying to not have by giving us weak excuses like we would only have 40 minutes to sit and so on and so on. After we started eating they told us that we were free to eat as long as we'd like possibly because I toddler was just fine. At some level I understand that they are trying to maintain a certain ambience however I just don't like the tactical runaround.

I'd give this place ten stars if I could. We were there for our Christmas Eve meal and I'm not sure we could have picked a better place. The hostess was one of the nicest people we came across in New York and the waiter was attentive and knowledgeable, but he didn't hover. The atmosphere was warm and felt luxurious without pretention. The house-made pasta did not disappoint. All of us got a different pasta and all were fantastic. Rather than olive oil and/or balsamic, the complimentary bread came with an olive oil and caper dip. It was so simple yet so delicious. Ditto the grilled veggies, olives, and meatballs that we got for appetizers. The cannelloni was somehow rich and light at the same time and the gnocchi was maybe the best we've ever had. The hostess told us it's because they don't use potato. We had the tiramisu and panettone for dessert and both were platonic ideals of those items. Wonderful espresso drinks to go with our dessert. Whenever I travel, I hope to have food experiences that are impossible to forget and this was it. Make a reservation and make it part of your Manhattan experience.

Fast service and delicious freshly made pasta.

Staff were nice and friendly.

My expectation for Lasagna and rock shrimp was disappointing :( but, everything was good other than that.

We went to Ulivo for lunch and enjoyed the prix fixe menu... choose a starter and then a pasta course. We got Pruscitto and mozz & the pork sausage with white beans to start. The Pruscitto was the best I've ever had... So buttery! Then for our pasta we ordered Gnocchi with a veal ragu band & Paccheri with Tuna belly. It was delicious! There was no one else there when we arrived but it should be packed. Reasonable prices and fantastic food and service!!!

We love Ulivo and it’s unpretentious and welcoming atmosphere. Their pasta is freshly made daily and all their dishes taste delicious. If you like a superb cocktail then you’re at the right place, their barman is absolutely the best!

Ulivo is a beautiful restaurant. Went to lunch on a weekend and it was pretty empty, which I loved. The fried octopus was the highlight of my meal, the gnocci was also very tasty, but I didn’t care for the dessert that much. Worth to go on a date!

Arrived at 4:45 on a Friday, we were the only customers so the service reflected, we felt like royalty with the treatment. The bread and drinks to start was fantastic. We had a few spritz and they make them really well. The pasta is delicious and flavorful, obviously made in house. I had the best pesto pasta with pistachios. It was really good pricing for being in NYC. My friends loved their ravioli and lentil soup. We will for sure return here.
