Starting from Amar Rd, the trail offers a rewarding uphill hike that provides a great workout. Along the way, you'll encounter a variety of fascinating creatures and birds, adding to the overall experience. However, I kindly urge fellow hikers to be mindful of their impact on the environment. It is crucial to leave no trace and ensure that no trash is left behind. Let's all do our part to preserve the natural beauty of the trail for others to enjoy.
Beautiful trail many points to start it’s open to biker hikers horse riders dogs 🐕 yes 🙌 spring time is best to see lush green hills with tons wild flowers blooming follow marked trail goes all the way to Turnbull canyon enjoy be safe watch rattle snakes deer mountain lions 🦁
Surprisingly fun exciting and thrilling. This trail is great for walks, biking, jogging, and running. The park at this location is a circle loop of 4.5 to 5 miles... however, it connects to other trails to other locations. Thus, over 20 miles of trails. This, in particular, was fantastic ! Challenging! And fun..
If you head south, it's the challenging side. If you head north, it is a downhill road until you come back up on the other switchback hill. Clean visually stunning, safe, and many friendly people along the way. Trails are rigorous and have rest stops with lovely views.
Great day for a hike ir for a picnic with the family . Follow the Google mapping, it will lead you to the yellow gate with a huge water drum located to the side. Park along the long wall. Please be respectful of the residents, keep all noise low, and throw away your trash. I Literally didn't find any trash along the trail most 🙃 excellent 😒

Great View after the rain with the multiple shape clouds in the fancy dusk. The trail just work as the garden of the houses in mountain of Walnut. Hope to visit again during the blooming season.
I cannot stress how beautiful the sunset is here. It’s a pretty short trail. There’s a bit of an incline but it’s fairly easy for people that are accustomed to hiking. It doesn’t get crowded at all, and there’s a silhouette of Downtown LA bathed in golden light as the sun is setting that you can watch next to a little resting and sitting area.
I didn’t see a toilet anywhere so make sure you go before coming here lol
I definitely recommend this trail.

We usually like hiking this trail, the view is amazing, you can see 360 of the city of walnut, covina and parts of the 10 fwy east bound, 1hr 38 min later gives you a hike of 3 1/2 mile. From starting point north, of lemon, downwards Amar rd going up the trail that leaves you to the city of walnut water reservoir.
Fell in love with this trail. If you want a bit more of a challenge, start at the base on Amar, as it gets fairly steep. The views after that segment are breathtaking - covina can be seen in its entirety and you can get a glimpse of the L.A. skyline off in the distance. Don't remember how I was gonna finish this but it's bomb so just go.
Schabarum Trail is a wide hiking trail that overlooks the San Gabriel Valley. The trail is wide and smooth, which makes it ideal for walking and running. If you start the trail from atop Smoke Tree Ln, you will first encounter a series of switch-back curves. There is also a plateau where you can have some great views of the valley.
In the middle of the trail, you will encounter a picnic area with wooden tables. It is on top of a small hill, so you can see a wider view of the west. On clear days, you can make out the tall buildings of Downtown Los Angeles.
The trail has a series of hills, but they are not too intense. The trail is perfect for an afternoon hike or jog.
