Filey beach is beautiful, clean, solid sand. Fantastic for long walks, designated areas for dogs . Life guard on site in summer months. Plenty of coffee/tea ice cream and food outlets available from early on in the morning.

Quite a contrast to the south beach at Bridlington. More in the way of coarse sand & large pebbles in places, also many groynes so has more character than the flat sandy south beach.

There is more than one "North Beach" location tag on Google maps!
It's a nice beach with easy access to the promenade, shops, toilets and some roadside parking.
Five stars from me!

North beach is lovely, always changing, depending on the tide, one day it can be covered in stones, other days mostly flat sand. It has a steeper gradient than the south beach, so when there is a high tide it can be very dramatic. The view towards Flamborough head is fantastic & from north beach promenade, just a 20 min walk to get onto it, where the views across the town & beyond are second to none. Also, pods of dolphins & porpoises are regular visitors to this part of the east coast, of course, they're not going to appear when you want them to, but when they do, it's an amazing surprise.
There are toilets available, one block on the promenade & another further along towards the headland. From Easter & through the summer, there is a lifeguard station here, there will be markers on the beach, recommending where to enter the sea, during holiday time, there are no dogs allowed in this marked area, but, anywhere outside is fine.

Soft Sandy beach beginning at the foot of the Flamborough Headland the beach here starts the Northerly end of the Holderness Bay. The Sandy bay including North Beach extends over 40+ miles from Flamborough, Danes Dyke & Sewerby broken only by Bridlington & its sea walls of concrete and stone, the high Harbour walls at the outlet of the Ancient Chalk bed stream the Gypsey Race.
The natural Beach re commencing South of Bridlington extending as far south as Spurn Point and the Humber.

This section of the Holderness Bay the North Beach is sheltered by the high rising Flamborough Chalk Headland cliffs marking the discontinuation of the Yorkshire Wolds.

In its shelter the beach here is a mix of soft white sand, strewn with chalk rocks, seaweed and muscle shells from the thriving living headland.
Beyond the tide line at low tide the beach extends for hundreds of metres making accessible to walk the hard rippled sand of sea bed.
The beach here is a favourite of mine sheltered from heavy winds in summer the beach beautiful and warm a very different feel and view to the South Beach only a few miles away.
Clean sand and clear waters although always cold the ideal place for a paddle or if brave enough a close shore swim.
The ideal spot for a lazy beach day of sunbathing and sea, or beach sports of bat & ball or kite flying, a great place for families to meet and enjoy the day.
Many bring windbreaks, dec chairs and picnics for a good value day out.
Ensure you bring swimming shorts and a spare towel as the sea here is always tempting for a cooling dip.

North Beach is a great place for twilight walks at sunrise or sunset either heading towards the headland for rocks and empty spaces (remember to check tide times first) or towards the harbour for the hussle & bussle of seaside entertainment, amusements, rides and loud music at the summer fair ground or pick up a ride on the pirate ship or speed boat in Bridlington Harbour.

Personally I prefer the quiet of the days beach camp and picnics idling away the hours of spring and summer days to the backdrop of the beautiful North Sea and Bridlington town.

In winter months cars are seen parked along the bay taking in the sea views of windy and stormy seas.

Public parking for an all day fee of around £5.40
Free public conveniences
An array of small beach shops, chippy’s, ice cream parlours and tea and coffee stalls.
The fish and chips get very busy around lunch time with a plentiful supply of people the chip shops don’t necessarily deliver good quality so generally speaking bring a packed lunch or expect to pay hefty fees for debatable quality.
Beach huts are available to hire although unsure of where from.
Land trains and nearby Sewerby Hall and model village as well as the swimming pool at Bridlington leisure centre are all well worth a visit for the more adventurous and restless day trippers.

Well worth a visit anytime of the year.

The beach is clean and a great place for walking the dogs. The kid's can explore the rock pools too and beach comb to see what has come in on the tide
