At 1am there's no traffic
Always under construction, always has traffic, and the general layout just causes traffic
Extremely narrow shared pedestrian/bike path where both directions use a very narrow sidewalk. Views off the side of the bridge are extremely hampered due to a very tight metal mesh wall restricting the beauty and visibility of the Harlem River below.
We were able to get around some serious I95 traffic by hopping off 95 to take the Washington Bridge to get into the Bronx.
The George Washington Bridge is a double-decked suspension bridge spanning the Hudson River, connecting the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan in New York City with the borough of Fort Lee in New Jersey. The bridge is named after George Washington, the first President of the United States. The George Washington Bridge is the world's busiest motor vehicle bridge, carrying over 103 million vehicles per year in 2016.
It is owned by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, a bi-state government agency that operates infrastructure in the Port of New York and New Jersey. The George Washington Bridge is also informally known as the GW Bridge, the GWB, the GW, or the George, and was known as the Fort Lee Bridge or Hudson River Bridge during construction.

Great place to go for a walk or jog, the views of Manhattan are amazing. There's also bike Lanes on both sides of the bridge. There's many n.y.c., parks nearby that you can visit. Also parking is really tough to find in that area, so be sure to get there early.
