🥾🥾🥾🥾🥾 Well guarded secret that this local preserve offers a number of connecting trails which are well maintained and diverse. Wide pathways in the grasslands 🌱🌱🌾🌾lead to extensive boardwalks through the marshlands. 🪷Beautiful woodland trails 🌳🌳which offer some manageable elevation. Great for families and dog🐕🦺lovers. Plenty of picnic spots. 🧺. Not crowded. Highly recommend-but keep it 🤐
A hidden jewel, Cherry Hill Nature Preserve is a great place to go for a short hike, to let the kids run around and burn off some team or to walk the dog. The trails are a mix of dirt and well-maintained wooden plank walkways. Once you traverse a short dirt pathway you reach a fairly level plankway which nicely accommodate seniors/handicap/stroller access. Also, there are optional paths that take you to the top of the central hill.
Although parking is somewhat limited (you park on the edge of Cherry Hill Rd) and there are no restrooms here, the park itself is beautiful in all seasons as you walk under a cathedral of old-growth oaks and other trees.

I have lived in the area for many years and hadn't discovered this hiking area until my friend told me about it! It doesn't seem to be super well known and thus is not very busy - but it is a well maintained nature reserve with good trails for hiking and biking. There are a variety of paths you can take so you can hike for as long or as short as you would like. Most of the area is in the woods so it is well shaded and fairly protected from most wind. There is even a wooden fort you can find towards the back of the park!
A tremendous nature preserve that provides wonderful hikes through a wooded area. The preserve itself is fairly large and has well marked paths that are easy to understand and navigate. The shear beauty that Cherry Hill provides cannot be understated. The wildlife, the trees, the flowers, and so much more make this a must go to in the Ann Arbor/ Ypsilanti area. It can be quite muddy and hard to walk after a heavy rain, but for the most part is easy going. It is also a popular place and you may run into quite a handful of people on a nice day. Lastly, the bugs can be a bit gnarly, so bug spray can be handy! Enjoy your next hike here!
One of the many Natural Areas in the vicinity of Ann Arbor, MI. The attraction of the (June 2021) was the abundance of 17-year cicadas. There were thousands, all singing their droning songs. It only lasts for a couple weeks and the next emergance will be in 2038. You have plenty of time to plan a trip.
Even without cicadas, wide, grassy paths allow visitors to explore the Preserve at anytime of the year. It’s a great place for a pleasant walk.

First timer. I really liked this preserve. The trails are mostly shredded bark. They are wide and well maintained. The 1/2 mile deep topography makes it interesting and just a little bit challenging. I saw a few beautiful trees. Also has quite a few boardwalks… all in great shape.
