Visitors can expect to visit Peck Ledge, Greens Ledge, and Sheffield, and enjoy a comfortable two-hour ferry ride to each location while witnessing a beautiful sunset.
Fun day trip! The island is a great place for a picnic. There are plenty of picnic tables in the shade. There are some short hiking trails. The lighthouse has some interesting history.
This was a nice change of pace with a great tour guide of Norwalk on the cruise to Sherwood Island. It would be nice if they had more to do on the island. I suggest if you go to take picnic items with food and water because you'll be in the island for at least an hour with nothing to do.
Great cruise with lots of historical details. Daniel was super knowledgable and gave us great info. The cruise was an hour and we purchased tickets online ahead of time. You definitely have to purchase ahead of time as they are cutting back passenger numbers due to covid. Must wear mask on board and can’t get up and walk around (although rude people on our trip had their kids mask-less and running all over the place and climbing🙄).

Nice way to spend a day. Pleasant water taxi boat ride out to the lighthouse. Quick tour of lighthouse (can't get up into lighthouse). Building well kept, nice pavilion to sit under. Only negatives are bugs and goose droppings. Wear sneakers! Pack snacks and drinks. It's a fun trip.
Enjoyable ride to Sheffield Island. Get there early and pay to park right in their lot. It's a nice slow ride to the island and give you time to relax in the sun. Staff is always friendly and enjoyable.
Very enjoyable ferry ride to a sweet island where you can picnic. Informative tour of the inlet. Its a nice daytime excursion, lots of osprey nesting, beautiful vistas.
