Your standard bland tourist Cajun food. Oysters were good. However, I would avoid the standard raw (the picture with a dozen) and go for the above the bottom oysters (half dozen picture). The former are very plump and large but no salty taste and very bland. You'll likely have to stand in line to get in, strangely, but the food is served phenomenally fast.
This place was recommended to me by a friend. And it's totally worth going. The food is delicious. The hostess seemed to be a little confused but the waitress was very friendly! I'm normally not a big fan of oysters but the Chargrilled ones we had were really good same as the Fried Shrimp and the Acme Special Po-Boys
Having eaten at Acme 5 years ago, I was super excited to return to NOLA and repeat the experience. Sadly, it was a bit of a letdown. I believe it had all to do with the location. My first visit was at the Acme near the airport (more emphasis on food and family dining.,) This trip I ate at the French Quarters location (emphasis was on drinking, quick eats) 😒 The chagrined oysters I dreamed of for 5 years was a let down. Sitting at the bar and enjoying a cocktail or 2 was pleasant.
10/10 delicious char-grilled oysters (huge buttery oysters). Expect to wait on line but worth it. I sat at the bar, the vibe is great, nice people the service was exceptional. I also ordered the bom bom shrimp, it was cooked perfectly 👌 rice and beans also tasty. Prices are reasonable. If you are in New Orleans you must visit this restaurant.
We love eating oysters here whenever we're in New Orleans. During the recent visit we ate lunch here twice. On new year's day with the Sugar Bowl crowd in town we had to wait an hour to get in. We had a grilled dozen and a raw dozen oysters plus gumbo, jambalaya, and rice and beans. The next day we came before opening hour (11 am) and got in right away . We skipped the grilled oysters because they're too rich and just had two dozen raw oysters plus some sides. The jalapeño margarita was a nice accompaniment for the oysters. If you don't want to wait, try getting in line before 11:00.
That was the first time I tried alligator meat. It was way better than it sounds...it tastes more like chicken.
And the grilled oysters were the best I have ever had in the US. I don't like raw ones (I didn't order here) and these creamy ones are really my favorite!
The service was superb. The staff gave helpful recommendations and were really friendly.
But be prepared for a wait, especially during the high season.
We will definitely revisit this place!

The oysters blew me away!! They are huge, smooth and succulent. Goes down so smoothly. They are so plump! Must visit for Oyster lovers. The interior is very cool, good vibes. The bartender was so sweet.
Amazing haft shell fresh and grill oyster with crab. Very good cocktail sauce. I don't like the oyster shooter here. It's not tasty and has too much alcohol.
I actually like Felix's Restaurant across the street more.
Love the fried crocodile. Taste like chicken but much better texture. Fast friendly services. Could be a long waiting time for the busy season.
