Quite disappointing. It's a walk bye the sea, but the coastline is nothing special and on the other side it's a busy road. If you go, it's definitely more interesting later in the afternoon when more people are hanging around. There's free parking at the fish market. From Mutrah Corniche, you can also visit Mutrah Souk.
No visit to Muscat is complete without visiting Matrah corniche. There's a long scenic walkway. People walk, ride bikes, sit beside the sea to relax here. Since this is also a port, many cruise ships stop here, and tourists can be spotted walking around, exploring the area. Whilst people visit here all year long, the best time to visit is during the winter months when the weather is pleasant. Summer months get extremely warm, even at night.
Parking is limited and normal full on weekends during peak hours

Lovely walk with easy access to museum, cafes, restaurants, souk. (Not my favorite souk - very aggressive vendors, but the rest is nice around the area.)
Hier kann man schön am Wasser entlangspazieren. Es gibt viel zu sehen. Leider verläuft der Weg auch an einer vielbefahrenen Straße.
This is one of the top destinations while visiting Muscat. I would recommend visiting this late after and in the evening. We drove across the Corniche and stopped at various locations, and enjoyed great views. Finding a parking space was a bit challenging, but we managed it. Great ocean views, cool breezes, and mountains at the back were mesmerising. It would definitely recommend everyone.
The area of Old Muscat, of which Muttrah is part of is truly breathtaking. Beautiful place to take a walk, enjoy a coffee by the sea and admire the landscape.
Wow!!.. What a place... well maintained and planning done to satisfy all sorts of serious tourists.. lot of spaces for relaxation. ... Enough parking spaces for vehicles... Plenty of attractions nearby... You can see the cruise ships anchored in the port Sultan Qaboos .. the harbour is home to His Majesty's dhow, visiting cruise ships and assorted naval vessels. it looks spectacular at sunset when the light casts shadows across the serrated crescent of mountains, while pavements, lights and fountains invite an evening stroll or a bike ride.
.. the mutra souq is another attraction not to be missed...

Awesome place to be with family.
The initiative to relocate the industrial elements of the port and redevelop the dockside for tourism is well underway with the refurbishment of the fish market complete. The port will provide a permanent home for Shabab Oman, the country's magnificent fully rigged training ship, which is soon to be retired now that its replacement has been commissioned. In the meantime, the harbour is home to His Majesty's dhow, visiting cruise ships and assorted naval vessels.

Matrah cornich is a beautiful place to visit during evening hours, one side is beautiful sea and the other is rocky mountains.
Long track for evening walk and huge number of seating round the cornich is great. Plenty of shopping options including restaurants and coffee shops.
Parking is a challange there ; a bit of wait is there to find.
