DAV Virginia, Roanoke, VA submitted my application quickly and I received my disability rating inrecrease from 60% to 80% within 3 months. I greatly appreciate DAV's works in helping me and our fellow veterans.
An excellent organization. All of these people talk negatively about DAV, but it is the VA that is the problem, not DAV. DAV has to follow VA standards and rules. DAV does not make the decisions, VA does. There is a reason that this is by far the largest veteran service organization. They do great work, at no charge to you. No complaints at all.
Still waitin', but the service received by David Owens is top notch. He's a veteran helping veterans, my favorite kind of Honor Vet. Stop in and get a VA Benefits check-up. It's well worth it for veterans.....👉🏾
DAV is run by Vets, They are not gods, the DAV has barriers just like us, it's the VA that is the problem, not the DAV. It's up to us Voters to rein in on the VA they are out of control. This saying is from a supreme court just. "When a legislature undertakes to proscribe the exercise of a citizen’s constitutional rights it acts lawlessly and the citizen can take matters into his own hands and proceed on the basis that such a law is no law at all." – Justice William O. Douglas ...What more can I say, we have a president who molests women, duh!
DAV is the biggest and worst VSO. The DAV was unhelpful, incomptent, and actually worked against my claim. The DAV has gone from helping vets to helping themselves. Only cares about donations for advertising. Warning: if you give power of attorney to DAV; this may poison your ability to get other competent VSOs to represent your case. Do yourself a favor, and talk to other VSOs. I do not recommend this organization. Shame on the DAV.

Women was very negative had no emphath for my situation. Waited on me grudgingly. I was very hurt especially since what I had gone thru on my ship(mine sweeper) during ww2
As a DAV member, I was very disappointed in the lack of service. I called 3 times left a message and no one called me back. One time I called the lady that answered the phone was rude. Surprisingly I was able to get my questions answered by the VA.
I was amazed with the speed and completeness that DAV ran through my stack of medical records when assisting with my VA claims submission. The gentlemen who worked my case was not a doctor, but you couldn't tell that by looking at the collection of medical books on his shelves. The staff at the front desk was thorough in outlining the process and what I needed to do to get everything lined up for the appointments. In only two visits within 6 days, I was done. Equally important, DAV was able to get my documents into the VA system promptly. I highly recommend DAV for their professionalism and experience in these matters. ..... A terrific service organization. Thanks!
