This is a very nice campground, clean bathrooms and showers. Nice paved hiking trails. We went and checked out the walk-in tent sites and they’re so nice. Right next to the water. The other site are mostly drive in sites, and very large sites. There is a nice playground for the kiddos. A++ campground. You do have to pay for a state park fee for the day.
We actually ended up staying here due to a problem with our vehicle, and it was a great park to hang out. There's an on-site mini zoo, lots of paved walking trails, and nice RV campsites with electric and water. Firewood is provided! There were lots of benches along the trails to sit and look at the river. Very relaxing, and so many birds too listen to & watch!
Beautiful RV park. Large spacious sites and our site 9 had a large back yard our dogs loved. Many areas to walk.
Don't expect much here. More like a bunch of city parks hap hazardly strung together than a state recreation area. Not much nature other than a dirty river but there is loud trains blocking the way and traffic and confusing roads. The park bathrooms were locked on a Saturday afternoon in the summer. If they are not open during the busiest time of the year when will they be open. Overall disappointed that this is in the state park system. It really should be a large city or county park with camping.
Rarely do we arrive at a campground for one night and wish we were staying longer. But that's the case here. This park is on the east bank of the Red River, directly across from Grand Forks, ND. Sites are spacious, level, have some shade and most have full hookups. We had a fire ring and a picnic table. Our site was pull-through. Sites are gravel, but roads are paved. There is a hike/bike path close by. The campground is quiet despite being in an urban area. At&T and Verizon service were both good and there were 26 OTA channels including the majors.
We always camp here when visiting Grand Forks. It is a great campground with large sites. Most are pull thru with full hook ups. Very clean bathrooms and showers. Great spot on the River with nice trails! Short walk to variety of fun restaurants as well as a movie theater and Cabelas!
Great spot! Trains occasionally blow horns, but never woke me up. Spacious campsites allow for yard games and privacy. More trees than it looks like online. Clean bathrooms and showers.
Large sites
Clean bathrooms
Clean showers
Clean outhouses!
Shady sites 1-13
No shade on opposite side near trail.
UPDATE: Friday nights are Speedway. 17/07/14. Speedway was going till 12:30 in the morning!
Keep this in mind!
This is our go to place for camping when going to Grand Forks. The sites are large, facilities clean, park is large. We love the fact that there are numerous restaurants just outside the gates as well.
The only problem we had was Friday night races at the Speedway. The wind must have been blowing just right, because it was loud, so loud we did not sit outside.
UPDATE: Site 40 is the closest to the highway turn off. If you have kids or animals be very careful.
