The rooms and the staff were fantastic. Staff very friendly and helpful, nothing was a problem from check in early to our departure. Location was great you can walk to most things

What a find! I was so pleased with my 2 night stay at the Malda. The attention to customer service is outstanding. After 16 hours of traveling I arrived in Barcelona exhausted and did not want to deal with a taxi. I called last minute and asked the hotel to send a car. Voila, they arranged it immediately. (As a side note, I think it would have been very difficult finding the hotel without a driver familiar with the obscure location of the hotel. There is no signage and the only access is through a private elevator tucked away inside a galleria). The front desk was also very informative about navigating the city and arranging tours. The rooms at the Malda are very accommodating and clean and the lobby inviting to sit and enjoy your morning espresso. I have already recommended the Malda to some friends travelling to Barcelona. I will definitely stay here on my next visit!

Positive: helpful staff, beautiful luxurious room, located in the heart of it all. Negative: two things, we arrived late in the evening and went around in circles trying to find the entrance to the hotel. The elevator to get to the hotel is actually in a sketchy mall. The hotel is on the second floor. It was closed when we got there so was dark. Don’t forget to have the punch code handy. For the door and elevator. They need better signs and should clean up the entrance. The hotel key was supposed to work in the elevator however it never did, so we had to manually punch in the number each time.

Be very careful booking this hotel. It is very hard to find and you need a secret access code to get up the elevator and a different one after 9pm and 11 am to get in through the outer door. After a long days travel we were not in the mood to find the secret codes. No taxi access to be prepared to walk down busy alleys and sketchy spots. 4 out of the 4 people we met there had the exact same issue. I’m surprised the reviews are so good. It was so stressful getting in after travel we wanted to leave before we even checked in. Mentioned it to the staff. They didn’t care. Came back with a cheeky remark.

It's a little hard to find without Google Maps, but the location is great. It's just a five minute walk to La Rambla and the market. Even better, it's only a couple minutes to a number of amazing small Tapas restaurants and shops. The hotel itself is very nice. The beds are comfortable and the service was great. We arrived prior to the check in time hoping to just drop off our bags. That would have been no problem, but it turns out our room was ready so they checked us in without any problems. The man (sorry but I don't recall his name) that checked us in also gave us some great advice for local sites and restaurants.

Our only complaint is that there isn't a good place for your luggage other than under the bed. That works out okay, but it is a little awkward.

The hotel is located in a great location in the Gothic Quarter. The rooms were modern and clean. I really enjoyed the stay. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Like what others said, it isn't too obvious to find the hotel but once you do, it is easy navigate. This hotel is close to a subway station (around 5 min walk).

Wonderful stay and will happily return. Ordered a couple extras for our special occasion and Tania didn’t disappoint. Very quiet in the heart of the old town. A bit difficult to find as inside the galleria Maldà. Just look for sign with number 5 outside on street and take elevator on right up to reception.

This is a lovely historic boutique hotel located in the Gothic Quarter. During our check-in, the hotel representative made sure that we were aware of the important sites to see in the area. Very centrally located, and access to other areas of the city was good. The room and the hotel in general were exceptionally clean and comfortable.
