Our guide was exceptional. His knowledge, stories and expertise at driving over and through the sand and dunes was second to none (off to the tavern to play the bass that evening too!). A trip for bucket list tick off. Loved it and thank you too for picking us up and dropping back at our accommodation on route. Great half day trip. Thank you. Jenny
Amazing experience which is a must if in the area. 6½ hour tour that goes so fast because of the superb planning and non stop commentary. If you can get Charles as your driver guide you are in for an exceptional experience. There are light refreshments and toilets at the end of the spit and also part way out. Times vary with the tides so you can get an afternoon/evening tour with jaw dropping views as the sun goes down. Can't recommend this tour too highly.
Professional, knowledgeable and personable drivers. My bus tour took us from Collingwood to the lighthouse on Farewell Spit. To and from there were many stops, photo opportunities and intercom commentary of the history of the area; the wildlife in the area, birds and seals, were abundant. I would highly recommend this tour to my friends and family!
Absolutely loved the tour today! The views were spectacular, it was great to see the bird life and the commentary from Paddy was interesting. Also enjoyed climbing the giant dunes. Special mention of our driver Chris who did an amazing job under challenging circumstances and showed great care for his passengers. Highly recommend this experience.
Had a really great day out on this tour to farewell spit lighthouse . Saw fur seals , rays and numerous birds including gannets . The drive along the beach was a real experience and our driver Alan showed all the experience of a truly professional and knowledgeable driver , the best I’ve ever known . Great coffee from Andy at the lighthouse and a talk from Charles .
Enjoyed the tour however it ran 40 minutes shorter than described. When stopping to view points of interest, appeared to factor front and left of bus. Sadly we were mid right behind task seats. The commentary felt very scripted. Was also disappointed that the two did not show the end of the spit. I was expecting to be able to see this.
Recommendations from everyone we knew that had gone on trip. We now agree having done this trip. It was interesting from start to finish. Good mixture of sitting and walking. Not rushed and good commentary. Found out I had ready a souvenir at home. 1970s light house keepers wife made them to sell.
Nice break at lighthouse and coffee and muffin provided.
Book ahead as timed to tide so leaving time changes day to day.

Unique experience! Something to tick off our bucket list. We had the pleasure of having Allan as our guide. His experience, knowledge, respect and passion was just delightful. A great day out. Fully recommend bringing binoculars although there are some communal pairs.
