Fantastic market where you can shop and eat before the boat ride. I suggest you buy tickets in advance. There is a man in front of the ticket booth who will take your name and confirmation number and give you a ticket. The line gets incredibly long for tickets.
I also suggest getting in line for the actual boats. They count you off based on how many will fit into the boat and getting on your boat last (the side the boat faces when moving forward) will give you front row seats to the show.
You will have to pay for toilet paper so bring some wet wipes and your own row.
Great place to get on the trajineras, see the show and enjoy some good food!
Also recommend that you walk down the long road and to the first intersection as that'll shave off around 200-300 pesos of your uber

Came here with no expectations, and it turns out to be the highlights of my Mexico City trip. 10/10 recommend
Exceptional experience. Beautiful trip and the service is outstanding. Don’t forget the food is delicious. Highly recommend this place. Won’t be disappointed at all
Best micheladas in town, for real. I didn't try any food but the setting and the background is nothing else than great. Music is there, you can enjoy a boat joyride or simply sitting there and getting drunk. Either way you're going to have a good time.
Great place to unwind from city
When you reach the location try to find someone to share the boat with you before asking any one in the place as they will not allow grouping
Act as u came from your hotel and rent the the full boat for 2000 to reach the dead island
Personally I prefer to take it alone for better peace and enjoy the place

Not sure if was because of covid but this place was so empty, felt like a ghost town
Of course the colorful boats are nice and amazing.
Every boat hour costs 500 pesos, but in one hour you wont see much, so get ready to pay at least 1500 . A few boat drivers take credit card not all

I have mixed feelings about this place, mostly because we payed 1,500 peso for the boat ride. They would not allow us to share the boat with anyone ‘for our safety’ during COVID 19 outbreak.
I would recommend coming with a group or waiting for other tourists willing to share outside of the port to lower the cost, as the boat will cost the same, no matter the number of people.
Another option would be to head directly to the eco park for a walk around instead of taking the boat.
The canals are beautiful, but the boat ride is very slow. They sell you a 3 hour boat ride so they move at a glacial pace to make it 3 hours.
We chose the 3 hour ride because we wanted to see the Axolotl amphibian animals.. When we got to that stop we had to pay 20 peso extra each, and they were in tiny aquariums, seemingly not well treated.
Overall happy we went and got to see the pre-Hispanic Mexico City.
One last tip- bring alcohol and snacks to make the ride more enjoyable.

Fun place. Worth visiting if you have never been here before. Best to come in a group because boats are fixed hourly rates regardless of the group size. Each boat can fit up to 20 people.
Food is fixed price at 180 pesos/set no matter what dish you order. Food was quite good.
The mariachi was so so quality, at least the one that performed for us. Cost is 150 pesos per song, so it pays to come with a large group.
The biggest drawback to this place must be congestion. There are way too many boats here. if you come looking for a tranquil ride down the canal, you will be disappointed.
