Staff polite, friendly and knowledgeable. Interesting history collection. Thanks for sharing with the public.
Great museum complex! Volunteers and interpreters were very knowledgeable and friendly. The parts of the museum dealing with the Lower Cape Fear during the colonial period could've had more details. However, I admit I'm a history geek and could fill in those details.
An incredible experience. They have taken an enormous amount of time and money to recreate history. Our guide was a lovely young person who was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. They have the home decorated for the holidays, keeping within the historic time frame.
We really enjoyed our visit. There is a tour for the restored Victorian home. That's the only way to visit the house. Definitely recommend it
Also, they decorated for the holidays.

Great local museum with friendly volunteers. I enjoyed the building and can tell that the local historical society puts a lot of work into the place. Definitely recommend if you're interested in local Fayetteville history.
Very interesting small museum giving a nice understanding of the history of the area. In addition, we had a lovely tour guide (she is from Texas) when walking through the 1897 Poe House who gave fun tidbits about Lily Poe the last resident of the house.
Really enjoyed my second tour, this time at Christmas! It's a free and interesting walk back in time. Amazing antiques and Poe family history described by knowledgeable tour guide.
The museum and house are very well kept. Ruth was great at explaining everything during the tour. You can learn a lot about how people used to live during that time. The museum is free and they accept donations. The museum has a cute store and great prices to get souvenirs.
