This park is an eyesore, unfortunately. After Red Bull did their "crashed ice" thing that ripped it apart about ten years ago, it has never recovered. There are homeless people parked all over, and you are better off going around the park than through it. No playground, broken concrete sidewalks, more dirt than grass, and broken glass. This is a terrible park. Also, I used to walk to work daily through the park when it was nicer and still run this direction over lunch.
First School Patrol crossing in the world, brought to you by Sister Carmela
p.s. Cathedral is usually open to walk in is pretty impressive, had organ music playing when I went

There is a monument to the first school crossing guard directly across from the cathedral and there is also an old cable car station of some kind. I walk this way to work everyday and I walk home around 10:30pm and even with the sometimes lurking homeless people wont mess with you. Has some trash from time to time and there has been tents on occasion so you aren't having a barbecue or anything like that but definitely a must see if you need a spot to smoke a doobie.
I was in town for a few days and decided to take a walk around St. Paul. This cathedral is amazing I really enjoyed walking and looking at all the intricate architecture.
Beautiful park I was here for the annual red bull crashed ice and it was something I recommend everyone check out if they get the chance, would love to visit here again in the summer
