The food at this place is trash I wanted to try something different and there was no flavor on any of the food just very basic bland meals I personally will not order from them again just nasty 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢
The food was super salty, the sweet potatoes taste out of the can, the hushy puppies were so salty I couldn't finish chewing. There was an item that was not provided, the spicy fried green beans so when my dad called to just let them know on good faith the guy argued... NEVER WILL I EAT HERE AGAIN. YOU SHOULDN'T EITHER !!
Come on, now! These are the tiniest chicken wings I have seen in my life! I don’t know how you can serve this with any pride.

My auntie came to town for her birthday weekend and wanted some good fish. I remembered this place from my time working in Baltimore and knew there was a location on Benning Road in DC. The atmosphere was friendly, although there were some questionable folks there, but they were cool. The staff are fast and courteous and the prices are great. We got catfish filet, chicken wings and drums, and hush puppies, which tasted undone and banana pudding. Let's just say we destroyed that food like it was our last supper! Everything was well seasoned, fresh, and simply delicious (except for the hush puppies). I really enjoyed stopping in to make my aunties birthday special. I took off one star for the doughy hush puppies...otherwise I'd recommend this spot to anyone who enjoys good food!
Hip Hop Fish and Chicken is another over rated restaurant for its seafood. The fish season was off, the shrimp was super small with no flavor and the french fries had no flavor. But, the staff was helpful and friendly.
We found this location online the next day after the March on Washington in DC while it rained. DoorDash app works perfectly in the NE of the capital (not Postmates). We ordered catfish, fries, coleslaw and macaroni. The highlights are catfish, mac and slaw. Why? The catfish was properly drained and meaty. The mac was cheesy and thick. Overall the meal had the lyrical content, tonenality and instrumentation which every Jay-Z album possesses. Wonder why it's called HHFC because it was all synchronized like a well-oiled orchestra. Can't wait to visit and order delivery soon again from this location. Succulent and savory are the best words to describe this place.
