We wanted a good italian and this looked nice and elegant, and it was, but we felt like we were scammed.. they gave us the drinks card first so we ordered wine, and then we got the menu and found what we wanted, meanwhile the owner (probably) came over to tell us that they didn”t have the beef and neither the pasta type for the pasta dish we wanted, which was the only pasta with meat… we found something else, and when we ordered they didn’t have burratta cheese!.. they didn’t have anything on the menu really, and we couldn’t go because we had ordered the wine… and when the food came, one of the dishes were wrong, and he took both dishes out, but the right one didn’t get heated again and was cold when it came back… all in all really really disappointing and they didn’t apologize at any point…
Was an OK dinner. I expected much more. Best dish was the starter with all the vegetables been perfectly al dente. The rest was a bit disappointing, food wise. Service was very polite and kind.
Service was very insufficient and food overpriced. The lady that “helped” us was super clumsy and did not even have a clue how she should display the cutlery which resulted in her puzzling and touching everything. We ate a few bites and decided to not order anything else.
We had the 'friends' menu for lunch in October 2020 and every single course was delicious: Fresh and seasonal ingredients, wonderfully presented on the plate and no added chemical conservatives. The best Italian meal we have had outside Italy in years. Praise to the cooks, the friendly staff and the professional restaurant manager. If we lived in Hamburg, we would eat there regularly. Grazie mille per un pranzo davvero favoloso. Weiter so!
It was indeed an amazing place with delicious food and great selection of wine. The stuff was charming, helpful and professional. Close to the centre, dog friendly and right next to the Opera… But I don’t recognise this place anymore! It’s just a shell of its glory! Such a pity!
Love this place! The Italian girl in Hamburg says: Approved! I suggest it especially for aperitivo or for a business linch during the lunch break. The food is very good, yet a bit expensive but still worth it. And also: check the interiors! It is so cosy and rich of details that it will be hard to leave the Milano-atmosphere that you can almost breath in here.
The Favoloso, located at Stephansplatz Hamburg, is a superb little Italian restaurant which not only provides a variety of delicious Italian dishes and snacks it also is an extremely stylish place to sit in. In case you are looking for something where you can impress your date with, this would be my recommendation for you ;-)
Really nice place for a drink or snack. Looks very luxurious and the waiters are sooo nice. All Italians too :) their wines are really good and you get some olives or snacks with it. Dinner was really delicious with fresh fish and the chocolate dessert with soft center was out of this world. Not cheap but with it once in a while
