横浜の歴史を知ることのできる「神奈川宿歴史の道」の鉄道の開通と埋立を読むと、非常にに興味深い事が分かる♪
今は横浜一の繁華街である西口あたりは、当時は海の中であった❗️との事です。

あまり広い公園ではありませんが、三宝寺の住職であった歌人弁玉の歌碑兼顕彰碑である、弁玉歌碑や、高島嘉右衛門氏の功績を称え顕彰する碑があります。 細長い尾根のような地形が良くわかる場所で、今は北側の上反町川しか見えませんが、昔は横浜がわの旧東海道などが良く見えたのでしょう。
国道１号線の青木橋から、急な坂道を上がった高台にある公園です。
広さは普通ですが、球技ができる広さはありません。
特筆すべきはこの公園からの景色です。
西～北～東側の180度が開けており、とてもきれいな都会の景色を楽しむ事ができます。
遊具は、すべり台・ブランコ(２連)、小さな遊具だけですが、小さな子供は満足できる遊具です。
