Great park in Greenbelt, MD with hiking trail around the perimeter of the park, parking, picnic areas and play areas for kids. Fishing is permitted with a Maryland license.
The park has several surprising nuances like hide-away pavilion and a path that leads to a bench where you can look over the lake. The path is trek friendly. Many of the backyards on the lake are decorated seasonally. There's a playground and picnic areas near the entrances of the park. It's easy to spend several hours there without getting bored.

Wonderful 1.25mi loop for biking or running. We’ve been in area for 17 years. Great for picnics and grilling, has a nice park with basketball. Pictures are amazing. Sit and read a book! They have restrooms
Very nice walk and not all pavement. About half was in the shade and park seems well maintained. Restrooms were near parking and in good shape.
Great fun relaxing place to be. Very clean an outdoorsy. I would definitely recommend this park.
My mom and I saw a great blue heron the other day, but I didn't get a picture. This is a great place to go for a walk around the lake or simply to detour away from Crescent Rd if you're not in a car. This is a real gem for the Greenbelt community.
Lovely huge lake with picnic tables and wide open spaces. Great path/trail around the lake for biking, jogging, walking. Abundant wildlife. Peaceful. Basketball court and decent parking. Dogs allowed on leashes. Open: 5a to 11p
Always a good choice! The walk around the lake is a perfect length for jogging or strolling, something like a mile around. The main wildlife I count on seeing are the turtles, but you will see wire "fences" around many trees due to beavers. The path is mostly well-shaded and is a pleasant place for a walk with a friend. The park has a large parking lot, and it closes at dusk.
Excellence experience; Playground, walking trails, grilling points, boats, and on this night fireworks for the Fourth of July. Good times, wonderful displays.

Family friendly, nice place to cookout, fish, walk, bike and more. There’s picnic tables, a trail, small public grills, a beautiful lake and a park for kids. The parking area is under construction so parking is a bit rough at the moment.
