This historic fountain is maintained by the US National Park Service and was refurbished and relit on May 5th 2023 with a huge turnout of local residents. The Chevy Chase Circle is split half in Maryland and half in DC. Built as the entrance to Washington DC from Maryland, it is one of the centerpieces of the Chevy Chase DC and Chevy Chase Maryland communities. Name for the founder of development company that laid out and set up the communities, there is a lot of controversy over that, due to his beliefs. Though he lived in the 19th century when many of those beliefs were common among folks of means.

Nice little park to have a quick little bite to eat outside. Limited seating around fountain. Heavy traffic coming and leaving DC. No parking..

Small park with a nice fountain in the middle. Be careful about the surrounding traffic circle, it can be dangerous for pedestrians.

It's really pretty and nice on any day, but it is very dangerous to try to cross the street from there. We may have almost died.
