Vittles was a delightful stop on our journey to Greenville. Ordered two pasta specials, staples from the kids menu and two Maine brewed beers. The waitress and chef/owner were friendly, helpful and hospitable. The cherry on top was the indoor kids playhouse and toys, which allowed the adults to relax and have a mini date with drinks while the kids were amused. We look forward to returning again soon to try breakfast.
Really loved this place. Doesn’t look like much from the outside but the food is delicious, the service is friendly, the building has character, and the homemade cake is worth it. Easy to find off I-95.

What a great little restaurant. We walked in and waited to be seated. First impressions were it was a cute restaurant. Very clean and friendly atmosphere. Being gluten free I immediately asked if they had gluten free items. YES, they do and it’s not just a salad. I ordered a gluten free buffalo chicken and it was amazing!! The bun didn’t fall apart and it was delicious. Best one yet I have had. They made the mimosa with tequila instead of champagne which was different and good. Overall the homemade fries and the rest of my families food was amazing. Highly recommend this restaurant if you are in the area.
We were driving from Bar Harbor to Boston on vacation and the kids just happened to be ready for a rest when we pulled off the highway near Pittsfield. A beautiful, quaint town and this restaurant was an amazing find! The staff was so friendly and the kids playhouse was exactly what the little ones needed while we waited for the food.
Anyway...the food was excellent! I definitely recommend the burger using fresh, local beef! The rest of the family tried a little of everything and no one was unhappy, even the picky eaters of the group.
I would recommend making this a destination to stop for, if you're in the area.

Beautiful older style diner. Clean and welcoming atmosphere. Excellent service!!! The food was delicious!!! Best home fries around.

Really nice place to stop for lunch and only a mile from I-95. Great for kids as they have big tables and a play area. The food is excellent and they make their own ice cream. When we were there we had limoncello and also basil. Both were excellent. Reasonable prices
The very definition of a hidden gem. The food was a knockout. The staff was sweet and accommodating—after hearing we had a little guy in our party with food allergies, the chef came out of the kitchen and offered to make anything he wanted. As far as atmosphere, sort of an average family restaurant, EXCEPT for the kids’ play house in the corner. Nothing says “Your kids are welcome here” like toys, books, and a tricycle weaving around the tables. After several hours of sitting in the car, having their own play corner really helped the kids relax and enjoy their lunch.
