The historic Washington Mews at New York University is a beautiful place to see and is on land that in the 18th century was part of a large farm owned by Capt. Robert Richard Randall.
Around 1950, New York University gradually converted the buildings along the Mews into offices and faculty housing.
Its near Washington Square Park and NYUs Bobst Library.

It was surprising to me to find in a city as dynamic as New York a quiet street in the middle of Manhattan between Fifth Avenue and University Place. A cobbled street, colorful for its houses with only two floors. Most NYU department headquarters. This bastance near Washington Square. A place worth visiting in New York.
Once you find this hidden street, it sticks out like a sore thumb... It feels like it doesn't belong in New York, but I'm glad it's there. This street has a European feel and only takes 2 minutes to walk down.
Not sure what the deal is with this street, but it is certainly unique and most people probably miss it. I was walking by and saw this street, and through "looks neat, let's walk down this street"
It seems like an alcove for tweed coat wearing, pipe smoking, academic loving professors and such from NYU.

I can’t believe that I walked by this spot so many times without noticing it! The view from either end of the street is spectacular. I felt like I walked from NYC to Europe as soon as I stepped through the gates leading up to it. It’s such a peaceful street, it almost feels like it soaks up your worries once you stop foot on it.
There is Europe in New York City! And it is in Washington Mews😍❤️ this place is absolutely my favorite place to take a stroll and take pictures and just sit and talk! This place looks like those European alleys ! The colors of the windows and doors, cobble stone street and the pretty walls will attract you! This is a cute hidden alley almost 5-6 mins walk from the Washington square park! If you ever go to Washington square park this place is a must to go ! I've been there soo many times and I'm never bored! Just love hanging out in there and you'll see sometimes people doing little photo shoots or videos bcz it is a nice place ! This place gives you European vibes in the busy life of NYC ! I love this place ❤️ check this place out and remember to take pictures as well 😅
