I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ho Lee Fook, and it was a fantastic experience overall. The food was exceptional. The ambiance of the restaurant is trendy and vibrant, making it a great place for a night out.

However, I did have a couple of minor issues. The reception could have been a bit warmer; the host's approach was a bit harsh when informing us about the dining hours. Additionally, I think the yellow mustard uniforms could use a refresh – they didn’t quite match the otherwise stylish vibe of the restaurant.

Despite these small concerns, the dining experience was superb, and I will definitely be returning. Highly recommend!

Most locals would grimace at what they are charging for char siu and other roasted meats, but really you’re paying for the atmosphere. It’s a very stylish room and the cocktails were solid as well. Service is very catered to a western audience because the menus and all servers were English speaking.

I was disappointed with the char siu as it was far too fatty. The table next to us got a far nicer cut, not sure if they neglected to give us a choice of lean or fatty. The stir fried greens was great with some spice. Egg fried rice a bit bland.

There are no words to explain how good the food and service is here. I've never had salt and pepper tofu anywhere else that is as sublime, for such a simple dish. Elevated it to a mouth melting experience. The dumplings and calamari were amazing. But the prawn okonimiyaki...next level sublime. Order it no matter what. The fish of the day (name escapes me) was truly amazing. Cooked to perfection and melted in your mouth. My thanks to the kitchen (forgot to say that as we left. Sorry!) The sommelier (sorry we didn't catch your name) was so helpful and the Niagara wine from china. Wow. thank you to the staff for such attentive yet unobtrusive service. I first ate here in 2018 for a significant birthday and my visit this time was also for my birthday. I still remember the food we ate 5 years ago (was hoping the rice noodle dish that was like gnocchi (but not) would be available alas it is no longer on the menu). But now I have new memories. Thank you ho lee fook see you again soon.

A very high level Cantonese food experience. The Char Siu was one of the best we have ever tasted. The interior of the restaurant is quite unique too. The staff that served us appeared well trained and exceptionally efficient.
Will be back to try other items on the menu.

Ho Lee Fook exudes class with its stunning interiors, setting the stage for a memorable dining experience. While the food is decent, it doesn't quite match the elegance of the ambiance. Nonetheless, it's a trendy spot to enjoy local flavors in a chic atmosphere.

Atmosphere was the only saving grace for our experience tonight. Unfortunately we were served by a clown of a server (the only female server) who thought it was appropriate to make jokes about our weight and made unprofessional remarks to push sales when we had clearly emphasized we were mostly interested in food and not drinks.

Now, normally, that would have been tolerable if the food was outstanding, but it was greasy Chinese food; worse than takeout but at top-level prices, none of which matched the experience.

Needless to say, we left within 45 min of arriving because of how bad our experience was. It’s too bad because based on other reviews it felt like others had a good experience, which may have been attributed to having the more professional servers.

Would I eat here again? Not sure it’s worth it personally. A resounding no from me.

Back to Ho Lee Fook again since my last visit in 2019 and feeling all the nostalgia! Thrilled to see its transformation into a brighter and inviting atmosphere with a scarlet tone. The mix of old-school jams and 80s Canto-pop, mahjong tiles, beckoning fortune cats and vintage Chinese artwork add fun to the atmosphere. Their traditional Cantonese cuisine with a contemporary flair is a treat for my taste buds.

I recommend the steamed live razor clams with glass noodles infused with flavors of the aged garlic, spring onion, and soy sauce, leaving every bite with a burst of freshness and depth.

The smoke crispy skin three yellow chicken is also a must-try with tantalizing aroma and tender, juicy chicken meat.

A really funky vibe! The decor is amazing from the wall of lucky cats to the dining area downstairs. We celebrated our wedding anniversary here and the waiter was so friendly, providing us with complimentary mahjong tile dessert and even did a shot at the bar with us when leaving. Food is on the pricey side but the atmosphere is great for a special event.
