New guy at the counter was friendly. Nice store with lots of options for craft beer with reasonable price.

Best German beer selection we’ve found in NYC, including at the famous place I won’t out here. It’s still good, but Urban Barley is GREAT. Plus, the service was amazing. So friendly and helpful in a location that doesn’t have to be.
This shop specializes in hard cider, beer, and seltzers. The place is small but there’s a lot squeezed in here. We were visiting from Arizona, and found many products we had never seen before, include Icelandic beer and (for me) local cider. Yes, the prices are high. That said, they are still cheaper than buying from a bar or restaurant. You don't have to buy an entire four or six pack, either. We asked permission and pulled off singles.

This is a great place for beer lovers to get their fix. For the size of this hole in the wall beer cave, it has a splendid collection of brews for NY prices. You can buy by the can or bottle do you don't have to get a six pack especially if you are into trying new beers.
Urban barley is a gem of the Midtown. They carry a fabulous selection of American Craft Beers , as well as beers from all over the world. When you walk in the door, they are immediately friendly and helpful, and will guide you to wonderful choices that suit your preferences. The prices are incredibly reasonable, and their inventory is widely varied, making it easy for everyone to find something they like.
