Ordered three dishes , not impressed, edible but maybe I was looking for a heavier canto touch not American Chinese food .
Best dish was the toufu with seafood and lufa stir fried in some sauce

Roast duck seems like it’s deep fried duck and it was too oily , we got half a duck and fat beneath the skin was overwhelming .

Got fried fish dish , it some belt fish Cooked with salt and pepper spices but it hardly turned out that way. Instead we got fried fish with funny dull taste loaded with chills n spring onion .

Grew up eating Cantonese diner takeout often so the food felt homey to me. Food is cooked and seasoned well. There were some mosquitos by my seat so maybe sit a bit more in if you have a choice?

Hot n sour soup ⭐️⭐️⭐️: my mom makes a better one so I have exceptionally high standards for this.

Salt and pepper squid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: crispy and well seasoned.

Scrambled egg shrimp ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️: wish it came with a side of rice but ordered rice on the side. This is my personal favorite comfort food at Cantonese diners.

Very nice staff, and very nice food! We ordered a lot of our Chinese food favorites, and it all came out in a timely manner. The egg rolls are to die for, and we also got shrimp fried rice, sesame chicken, beef lo men, shrimp chow ho fun -- so. good. The workers seemed to enjoy our sticky note we left on the table :)

They make really good stir fry beef hofun! This version of it has gravy and comes out piping hot!

I asked for less beef and more veggies but I think they gave me the same amount of beef and more veggie haha.

Service is great and it’s a cash only restaurant.

However awesome vegetarian options.

Wanted to go to wo hop but got guided to wo hop next door. Never knew they were to separate businesses with separate kitchens. This place rocks. Feels like you're in HK. Good Chinese food in a cosy old school setting.

Highly recommended!

After Nom Wah Tea Parlor, Wo Hop meaning harmony is the 2nd oldest establishment in NYC’s Chinatown. In 1976, they opened their second location, Wo Hop Next Door which does not share a kitchen with the “downstairs” where my partner, my mom and I stumbled in for lunch at 25 Mott Street today. They are a cash-only operation. Upon arrival at this quiet relaxed setting, don’t expect fancy seats or fancy treatments here. Not sure if they take reservations but for a while we had the restaurant to ourselves. The menu in English or Chinese is a roster of the classic Cantonese cuisine such as egg foo young, lo mein, fried rice with pork, chicken or shrimp, sweet & pungent (sour) chicken, crispy egg rolls, and much more. Meals began with glasses of ice water and hot tea for the table. We ordered Crispy Fried Chicken (Half), Beef Chow Fun with beef slices stir-fried with soft, springy rice noodles then seasoned with soy sauce, Fried Chicken with Mixed Vegetables (carrots, bok choy and green peppers) in a brown sauce, and a dish with pork belly. The dishes came out fresh and were authentic, delicious, with generous portion sizes. Service was good. Prices were very competitive compared to other Cantonese restaurants in Chinatown. It was a nice experience without the craziness of having the staff running around or the high noise level which we could recommend this place.
