Just to be clear, I'm giving this place a 3/5 mostly because my waiter was super cool and friendly, otherwise 2/5 is the proper rating.
A Casa do Porco in Sao Paulo is hyped in the Michelin and the 50 Best guides. But you know what? It left me feeling pretty let down. Out of like 10 dishes they served, only one was really above average.
I splurged on the R$290 tasting menu. We kicked off with cold cuts. The guanciale was kinda chewy, and the cassava crispy corn meal was alright but no better than your average Brazilian bolinho that you can snag for way less (R$3 in most places). Then there were three sandwiches—meh, they were just okay.
The pork tartare was a bit of a win, but nothing mind-blowing. Then came the BBQ part. The cut they served was tough and not very flavorful, unlike the chef's sausage (no pun intender, that’s the actual translation of the name), which was actually pretty good.
But oh boy, the ossobuco was a disaster. It should be fall-apart tender, but this one was as hard as a rock, and don't get me started on those undercooked onions in the soup.
The saving grace was the San Zé pork, served with classic Brazilian sides. It was the best part, but not good enough to save the whole experience. I wouldn’t come here to eat that, it’s not that special.
Dessert was decent, but honestly, I was here for the main course not to get an ice cream. Overall, I'm just not getting why it's so hyped despite this disappointing experience.

You will spend 300 dollars, but be treated like trash by the hostess if you don't look rich. Unfortunately, given that I like the food and the effort. But no one likes being treated like trash. And I didn't even get a long waiting time, just ten minutes and was treated like trash because I sat down on the empty table while waiting. I hope they start training their door personnel.
I attended the restaurant with a group of 6. We ordered the tasting menu with matching drinks. Honestly I was overall disappointed and unable to find one overly positive thing to say. From the moment we arrived, menus were chucked on the table in front of us without much of a greeting at all before the server walked off. There was a seemingly lack of organisation amongst the staff as they seemed to scramble to bring each dish out. We politely asked if there was anyone that could provide information on each dish in English when they came out - we were told that the manager would be happy to do this. The managers attitude from the moment he had to come and speak in English was that of complete disregard, he was obviously annoyed by the fact he had to do it. Honestly would have rather they just said sorry we can’t, it would have been better than the lacklustre service that the duty manager showed us. Back to the food, I was disappointed to be honest, it just seemed to lack taste and was a bit too pretentious. As we sat there looking around we felt like we had made a mistake by choosing the tasting menu as many items that people were ordering around us from the a la cart menu looked considerably better. For a meal that cost over $3000 BRL we left the place feeling a bit confused how this restaurant could be considered the 12th best in the world? Do yourself a favour and skip out on this one when in SP.
Maybe I had a high expectation about it. I've been following Chef Jeffin for a long time and I had in mind to go there on my next visit to SP. Everybody told me it was impossible to get there for lunch, this way I arrived at 6pm for dinner, to make sure I would find a table. Fortunately the place was empty and by 7:30pm it was packed. I was with some friends from SP and we started with some drinks: Cajú Amigo and Wine. Since I had a late lunch I decided to try individual items from the menu, NOT the tasting menu (maybe that was my mistake). We started with the TORRESMO DE PANCETA COM GOIABA, that was the best of the night and I love the combination of sweet and savory. After that we had a LINGUIÇA DE PORCO CAIPIRA that didn't impress. When I passed by the kitchen, I saw a huge pig on a pit and I asked what it was. The waiter told me it was a PORCO SAN ZÉ, and we ordered one. I was expecting a crispier skin and juicer meat, but the skin was a little bit chewy and the meat tender, but a little bit dry. I was almost ready when we asked the waiter for something that would impress us and he recommended the the PORCOLETTA, a pork chop breaded with fresh greens. It was kind of dried and a deception for me. I won't give up on CASA DO PORCO and for sure, I will order the tasting menu next time, but at this point, I'm not able to give a 5-star. Still very excited to try again.
Amazing food. Preparations on the tasting menu were balanced and beautiful. Service was fantastic. Highly recommend!!
Didn’t have a reservation (you can reserve 4 months in advance but they run out so fast) but we decided to go on a Monday lunchtime and we got a table pretty easily. Foods were immaculate! The highlight for me was the crispy pork with guava paste. No wonder it’s the best restaurant in SP
Amazing restaurant! Had the tasting menu which was delicious. Everything was so tasty. The service was super friendly and accommodating. Nice drinks with cachaca. Had a table outside and it was pretty cozy too and did not have to wait after getting in line as I did not have a reservation. I recommend to go early to get in line. Definitely one of the best restaurants in the world and a must to eat in Sao Paulo.
If you're looking for an unforgettable dining experience in Sao Paulo, look no further than A Casa do Porco. From start to finish, our meal was exceptional in every way.
The tasting menu is a must-try, featuring a range of creative and delicious dishes that showcase the restaurant's commitment to using locally-sourced ingredients. Each course was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor, and the portion sizes were just right. They have a wonderful way of creating dishes from all over Latin America which was super interesting and delicious.
The service was also top-notch, with our server providing detailed explanations of each dish and offering wine pairings that perfectly complemented our meal.
One of the things that impressed us most was how easy it was to get a table for lunch. Despite the restaurant's popularity, we were seated promptly upon arrival even without a reservation.
Overall, A Casa do Porco exceeded our expectations in every way. The food, service, and atmosphere were all exceptional, and we left feeling satisfied and impressed. If you're a foodie visiting Sao Paulo, this restaurant is a must-visit.

Very well rated and it delivers on what you would expect. We had the latin inspired tasting menu and it was great. Very imaginative dishes. Who would have thought that a pig ear cevice could be a thing, let alone delicious. The service was great as well, giving us explanations about each of the dishes. They also spoke English. Well worth coming.
Rated No.7 on the worlds 50 best restaurant of the world on 2023 and have been on the top 10 for years. It’s truly amazing.
This place serve everything pig. If you visited the first time maybe you can try their tasting menu which includes fishes from all over Latin America. But since I’ve been to all those places so I decided to try their signature dishes from a la cart menu. The menu is not big but the food is delicious and surprisingly really affordable.
I was trying to reserve but it was booked out for the next four months. In the end I was able to get a walk in table at 5pm without waiting. The hostess said the best time for walk in is between 5pm and 6:30pm on weekdays. Other time would have to wait for at least 2hrs because their tasting menu is 1.5 hrs.
Staffs are friendly and some speak good English so ordering is not a problem. Some seating on the street but might have mosquito.
