The best sushi I had in the US, even beating lots of omakase in Japan. The quality of the food was high. My top favorites were: Hokkaido uni, ice aged otoro, scallop, monkfish liver!

The service was friendly and thorough as well. Yokiko was amazing! We had some trouble with our reservation. She helped us solve the problem so we can enjoy the food and service.

The price is high but I would say it’s totally worth it with the food and service you got here. Would definitely come back again.

The best of the best in USA. Way better than all the sushi omakase restaurants in Bay Area or NYC. Probably also better than Sukiyabashi Jiro in Tokyo IMO.

Every dish is excellent and full of the enhanced flavor from the ingredient. Here I just pick some dishes which exceed my expectations as the recommendation:

- hotate (scallop): marinated with dashi + scallop soaked sauce.

- tako (octopus): super tender and juice. Make me doubt the octopus I had in the past.

- baby red snapper: marinated with vinegar and covered by egg yolk powder. demonstrate the

- firefly squid: smoky, soft, and fresh. Impressed by how chef find the balance of the seasoning

- purple sea urchin nigiri: like a high end butter with the taste of the sea melting in your mouth

I order the Togo box from here. For $40 this is a huge win. One of the most value meals in my opinion. This is no omakase and it's a change up from all the sushi you mightve been having the past few days. This chirashi box feels messy but it's so thorough.

Delicious fish and seafood in here and you will always be surprised with what you find. Highly recommend ordering this and taking it down to a beach for a sunset quick meal! Note that you have to pickup at 4:30pm.

Beautiful restaurant. 10 seater bar in the main dining room with a smaller room in the back meant for 5-6 people. Have had the pleasure of dining here several times and the quality of food, attention to detail, service and experience are top notch. I do not believe sure there is a finer sushi dining experience than this one outside of Tokyo, and most definitely not in the US. 20+ something courses in the Omakase for $300+ a head. I'd pass on sake-pairing as that can get more expensive than the sushi itself and there's only so many Daiginjo's you can drink before you stop kidding yourself that you can differentiate between the subtleties and nuances of each one.

Nakazawa-san's two signature dishes are his pickled baby watermelon with Ankimo and his Ohagi, which is his take on a negitoro. Both are absolutely amazing, and must-orders if they're not a part of the standard omakase menu.

Absolutely floored by this spot. Don’t get sticker shock because of the price. While it is steep, it is 100% worth every penny. This has got to be in my top 3 sushi experiences I’ve ever been to. I’ve traveled to Japan and beyond, and this place was incredible.

Incredible quality. Fantastic service. If you love sushi, You cannot miss this!

Simply amazing.

They used local and Japanese seafood, together with other local ingredients for their sushi. Unique and delicious.

I have to say every single dish out of the 18 courses are of top quality.

You have options to top up extra pieces towards the end of the Omakase, and the add ons are at $10 each, surprisingly good price (should have add on more)

Chef communicates perfectly in English, and very professional in explaining all the details to non Japanese speakers like me, very impressive.

Worth mentioning, Sushi Shi’s $350 course is inclusive of tax and gratitude! Customers are not to pay tips on top.

We had Bara Chirashi($40) and Futomaki($40). Bara Chirashi was somewhat different we have had in mainland but I liked its own style. Fishes were small pieces and it might causes that people don't like it but it is its own traditional style. The overall quality was good, taste was good (not fantastic), but the price was expensive for take out menu.

Made a reservation at 8 pm. It is a very traditional way of sushi, where it's mainly raw fish. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The texture and flavor of the different fish/sushi is one word delicious. Very umami. My wife and I had a great time eating and talking to the chief. It's definitely worth the try for sushi lovers.
