Tulemar Bungalows & Villas

Luxury at its best!! Javier and his team at Villa Kiskadee were outstanding! We had our every need taken care of and enjoyed all the wildlife (monkeys, iguanas, sloths, toucans and more). Tule at cafe had good food for even our pickiest eater and Victoria’s Italian restaurant was delicious too. The shuttle service on the property was easy to access and timely. We did walk to a couple souvenir shops and mini supermarkets for supplies as needed. Javier arranged various activities for us and everything ran like clockwork!

Tulemar is magical! I so enjoyed my stay here and hope to return! It's the perfect combination of a private rental with all the amenities of a hotel. We stayed in the mini suite which was nice and worked for two people. But next time, I'd hope to stay in one of the bigger villas - they looked gorgeous.

There are multiple pools and private beach access and a van to shuttle you around the property. While we ate out most nights, the breakfast and lunch from the cafe were very good.

Service was great - everyone is super friendly. Our concierge Javier was awesome. He helped us arrange all the activities we wanted to do and our transportation. He gave us recommendations for dinner and then made reservations for us, always getting us a great table. He was always quick to respond at any time and even surprised us with a few treats.

You see so much wildlife from monkeys to sloths to iguanas. And it's the perfect location - walking distance to the cute restaurants and shops in Manuel Antonio. The property felt very safe.

I really have no complaints other than I can't wait to go back!

Paradise Found… almost. Juan-Carlos our concierge was excellent! The property and beach are spectacular. I rarely complain (pls check my reviews). Our Villa ran out of hot water every day after the second shower. The hot tub on our deck was a major disappointment as it wouldn’t hold water. We asked them to repair and they couldn’t. The MOST disappointing thing however was that after paying a significant amount to stay at this amazing property, they could not accommodate us either of the 2 mornings for their ‘Sloth Walk’ which would show us where the animals are on the property. We did see the tour… there were maybe 15 people on it… but it was a shame they could not accommodate us as the property itself is amazing. Would we stay here again? Likely not.

This is the best vacation stay we've ever experienced. The natural wildlife in the area was wonderful seeing all the monkeys, sloths, birds, iguanas and lizards throughout the property and the Casa Del Mar Villa was exceptional. Our personal concierge, Javier, was fantastic and very knowledgeable who booked us on several amazing tours. He also recommended fantastic restaurants in various price levels and made reservations for us whenever needed (the restaurant on the property is also very good). He was prompt and an absolute pleasure to deal with and truly helped make our vacation the most magical ever. I don't think we'll ever be able to live up to this vacation, and Javier really made it over and above something already exceptional. Thank you Javier and Tulemar for our wonderful experience, we will be back!

Our trip was sadly less than amazing for a couple reasons.

Unfortunately, we learned on arrival that the bungalow we thought we booked did not match any of the pictures. It was clear that we were put in another bungalow, one with a much less desirable view.

We were also awoken at 630am with the sounds of construction right outside our door and above us. The smell of paint was so bad at one point, we couldn't even sit on our balcony. While I understand the need for renovations, this was never communicated to us or done in a respectable manner.

It also did not have the hammock that the listing indicated that it would. A big let down for us.

Truthfully, our concierge Luis was fantastic in helping with what he could, but unfortunately we never got the room or view that we paid for.

We won't be visiting again. The bait and switch was really dishonest and I'm not sure we are willing to take that risk again. Beware of what you book.

If you can only go to one place in Costa Rica, I would go to the Tulemar Bungalows. It is so special and unique. The bungalow we stayed in had the most incredible views of the ocean and surrounding mountains and forest. We woke up every morning and just sat in bed watching the birds and monkeys. Anywhere I can get food and drinks delivered to me on the beach is a win in my book, but the staff here takes it to a whole new level! They were so kind and helpful the entire time. They remembered our names and went above and beyond to make our stay incredible. I even forgot my retainer when we left, and our amazing concierge, Javier, mailed it to our next destination! I will miss our little magical bungalow and definitely see myself coming back in the future!

Our premium bungalow was amazing. It felt secluded but was easy accessible. The views are stunning. From the all window view from the bungalow we saw sloths, monkeys, lizards and all types of gorgeous birds.

The private beach was lovely. Nice waves. David made sure we always had a lounge chair, towel, umbrella and boogie boards. Good food and drinks were also available. The pools were small but quiet and comfortable.

Our concierge Jans took amazing care of us. He scheduled all our transportation within Costa Rica, planned amazing tours, surprise birthday decorations and events. He even took care of our laundry.

Great food and service at the restaurant. A little pricey though.

Tulemar has everything you could dream of! I can’t recommend this place enough.
The service sets Tulemar apart from anywhere else we stayed. Brian was our concierge and was always there to help, day or night, with a smile on his face. I couldn’t imagine someone better suited for the position. Luis welcomed us with a smile every time did a great job behind the bar. All of the staff at Tule Cafe were helpful and friendly. Even David and the beach staff were friendly and helpful every time we saw them. The people make Tulemar a very enjoyable and happy place to visit.

The accommodations at the Bungalow Villa was world class. The views of the surrounding jungle attracted Scarlett macaws, several species of monkeys, numerous lizards, and other animals daily. The private pool was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the sunrise and sunsets. The outdoor shower and oversized tub was wonderful. The kitchen was well stocked. The bedroom was spacious with a large windows and a balcony to enjoy the views. The master bath was very spacious and we loved the rainfall shower.

The grounds were spectacular and full of life. We actually saw more species and volume of animals walking around Tulemar than we did anywhere else in Costa Rica.

The private beach was a jungle paradise. The sand was very soft and was encompassed by the jungle.

Views, unspoiled jungle, a private beach, first class accommodations, and five star service. The best of the best.
