Very nice lake and the day was perfect weather that we couldn't ask for more.
Beautiful park. Was here for a wedding reception. Highly recommended.
Fantastic wedding and reception 😀! With good friends and people. And, a very scenic area in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin.
Beautiful trails that are well marked next to a serene lake. It was a well-spent afternoon.
Awesome venue for a dear friend's wedding reception. Easily accessible, Ample parking.
Good trails, beautiful little park, playground and picnic areas, facilities. You drive like a mile in through woods but then the main part of the park is directly next to the highway crossing the bridge. Nothing can be done about that, but it took away from the being in nature feeling.
It was alright. I would recommend just as a fun place to hang out. Some fun playground equipment for kids. Water was a bit stinky and the most hilariously poorly paved sidewalk I've ever seen. It would be better if the trail was just left and maintained as a dirt trail.
Too much private property!! Use to be almost no houses on the lake until papermill decided to sell all the land surrounding the lake and some developer yanked it up quick and divided it up into lots so it's no longer a fun lake to go on in my opinion. Plus the fish are small
Very nice little park. We'll be coming back to check it out in the Summer.
Has a boat launch playground and picnic tables with clean public bathrooms. I don't recommend swimming just because I don't like the grass. There are "cross country ski trails" for hiking and biking, but it is not clear if payment is only requires in winter.
I regularly hike the trails here because it is really the only place in Wisconsin Rapids that has anything hikeable. The trails are well laid out, bark chipped, primarily and it is nice to have a nature break at hand that's so readily accessable. Another way of enjoying the trails is by mountain biking, xc-skiing, or snowshoeing. It is also a nice place to walk with your dog, but be prepared to meet other dogs whose owners think that because their dog just "loves" everyone they are exempt from the leash regulation. "Well, I have my leash with me...." Doesn't help the wildlife etc. The Nepco Lake Shelter is beautiful. Highly recommend renting it for any events. There's nice bathrooms and kitchen prep area, serving area and tables and chairs to use.
There is a swimming beach, changing house and rest rooms, water pump, nice playground, double boat launch, and canoe and kayak launch as well, but the scenery at the lake had changed dramatically. When the first "cabins" went in l thought well, maybe it won't be so bad but now I hardly even want to hike along the lake. The idea seems to be to take out as much of the previous natural beauty and plop down the biggest building we can think of. It's hideous, but perhaps you like gazing out at the lake and the concrete beyond. Not my thing. I feel bad for the eagles that used to nest there and the river otters that you could watch play near by. Amazingly there are still geese and even a pair of swans that persist in the cattail marsh. Not likely they'll be there for too much longer because right at the boundary of the park is another development to come.
