It is a beautiful place and on the top of the hill Kali Mata Temple is there... Adoring to history temple was established by bengali king when he came to the hill region for hunting then in his dream Goddess Kali told hi to build her temple.. This is very near from shimla .
I trekked instead of taking can from shogi, I trekked from Tara Devi Temple..... Trek of 3 or 4 km, winding on the hill route... Pagdandi..... Complete route covered with greenary.... And you get rout indications from red Chunni tied on trees and at some places small boards with Jai Mata Di or Jai Maa Tara Devi written.
Just behind Tara Devi Temple, there is a Shiv Temple.... I have attached a pic (3) of that temple too.

Very nice and serene temple on top of a hill. I enjoyed the trek up to this point. While vehicles can go right to the top, one can also trek up to the point.
For this, one can start at the Taradevi railway stop, which is just outside Shimla. Slightly further ahead, one can find a set of steps that leads to a wooded area. The route is pretty straightforward and there are markings throughout.

Super calm temple , no much people on a weekend of winter day. Clean and well maintained. No parking fee. Roads are a bit dangerous to drive. Only expert drivers recommended.

It's a religious place, a temple dedicated to Devi Tara, a swaroop of Goddess Shakti herself. The beautiful temple shines at the top of a mountain from where one can get a fantastic panoramic view of entire Shimla. The temple's architecture is phenomenal as the entire formation of the temple is made from wood. The temple premises are also exceptionally neat and clean. However if you are travelling on your own conveyance, then the way is a bit steep, hence you need an expertise with your driving skills.
Whether you're a devout devotee seeking the blessings of Goddess Tara or simply seeking a haven from the chaos of daily life, Tara Devi Temple offers something for everyone. The breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valleys further enhance the experience, leaving you feeling rejuvenated and inspired.
The intricate architecture and vibrant colors of the temple are a feast for the eyes, while the positive energy pulsating through the air fills your heart with peace.
The shopkeepers here are friendly, honest and helpful, adding to the overall pleasant experience.
A special highlight is the Bhandara, a community meal served every Sunday and on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of the month. Sharing a meal with fellow devotees is a beautiful way to connect with the community and experience the true essence of this sacred place.

Tara devi Temple is reverred all over Himachal. It is located near Shimla city . I went during Dussehra days and I was very happy to see people were helping in Bhandara . The climate and temperature were normal . So it was easy for me to ride on a rented bike to this amazing place of worship .
If u want to go to Tara devi u can take a bus from Shimla city or u can ride on bike or car also.
It is hardly 7 to 9 km from the city .
The road is pretty good . There are some tricky turns when u step up.
I enjoyed every bit of it .
When I reach on the top the scenery will take away your heart .
About the temple.
The temple has a magical aura.
U will feel itself close to the Goddess.
The temple has a rich architecture and it looks divine.
When I visited the temple , there was rush of people as it was a festival time . There were people selling some items outside the temple.
There is place dedicated to all devotees outside the temple where I saw lota of people were tieing red cloth .May be they asked something from the Goddess and they got what they asked for . The whole place was full of flying hopes and devotion to this amazing place where everyone was so spiritual.
The view of mountains and Shimla city were worth viewing .
Overall u should visit this temple .U will return with lota of positive vibes and inspiration.

Beautiful and very spiritual temple. Built on the top of tata parvat. 250 years old and situated at 1851 meter high from the sea level. Car parking is available. It is around 11 km from Shimla. The view from the top is awesome and mesmerizing. Bus services are available. You can Also go by your own vehicle but try it if you have full confidence in your driving. Most adventurous driving track.
Very cool calm worship place at Hill top with beautiful views and calm environment. A Shiva temple, 1.5 km within the forest too was close by and worth seeing.
A must visit if you are in shimla no matter how far you are from the temple just go there once and you will never regret, if you are looking for some amazing pictures this is the go to place if you are a religious person its a must visit and if you want to feel the beauty of the nature and want to have a scenic view this is the go to place, there is no entry fee but make sure to maintain dignity and not to make the place dirty, avoid taking leather wallets and belts inside the temple, the best way to reach the temple is vie your personal car but if you want to take the bus there is a bus which go from old bus stand to Tara Devi temple from 1pm and the last bus which comes back from the temple is at 4pm there is no bus stand up there so keep the timings in mind, the place has really soothing ambience and in our case it was directly visible from our hotel room, hence must visit Jai tara devi ma.
We drove to a high plateau from where a forest path led us to the Temple. The path wasn’t an incline and quite easy to navigate. We ambled along, talking, taking in the sights.
‘Tara’ stands for a single point of light that helps one navigate. The Temple is 250+ years old. It is surrounded by red religious flags.
The Temple precincts are quite huge with facilities like shops also available. We removed our shoes and climbed a few steps to reach it.
The first thing that struck us was how stupendous its architecture was! The second thing was a delicate tree full of pink blossoms; what a sight!
The third was the corking scenery in front of us. Being on a hilltop, you can see kilometers in every direction. Heaving mountains & green valleys stretched out in front of us.
Standing on this hilltop, you can’t help imagining that Tara Devi is keeping an eye on all her disciples from here. Because of this sweeping view, the Temple isn’t just a pilgrim spot; it’s also frequented by tourists.
The Temple is open every day (except special occasions) and its timings are 7 AM to 6:30 PM. If you visit on the Navratri Ashtami day, you can witness a grand worship as well as participate in a fair where you can also watch wrestling competitions!
